For what it's worth, I ran across this link that I had discovered when I was investigating potential treatments for my PCa.  If nothing else, it provides a basic understanding of HIFU. Of particular concern, however, is the quoted stat about 70% ED rates.  I don't know if that is current and they do not quote any stuides...

I removed that phone number under the solicitation guidlines of this site.  HIFU is a valid treatment alternative but mainly for the moderately differentiated cases.  Anyone wanting to do research for HIFU as a treatment alternative should be given accurate information, and this is easily found.  The intent of this treatment is well documented as well as the success and failure rates and side effects.  After consulting with leading neutral PCa advocates and studies regarding HIFU, I defer to their conventional wisdom of disallowing these solicitations.  Please see below for a link on the HIFU storys being solicited on the internet...

Please understand that I know there is a good use of HIFU, but it is not for everyone.  And the notion to lure new patients through websites as outlined by the link above, is only going to hurt it's reputation, not help it.

I still would not have been a candidate. My PSa jumped in a year and I have a serious history of prostate cancer on my father's side. There are some additional medical issues for me that I preferred not to post. None of the HIFU doctors would have taken me as a patient.

Let's just leave it at HIFU will NOT WORK for everyone. Besides I never would have paid the $25,000 for it. I am quite happy with my process and knew what I was getting in to. I have recovered quite nicely.

I do agree with Obama that HIFU won't be approved by the FDA soon. You have 80,000 doctors wanting the established treatment and 250 that are training on HIFU. Long uphill battle.

And yes, no promo's of any kind for any individual doctor. No phone numbers, addresses, etc. You can give out your personal email address and have guys contact you directly. Since you feel so strongly about HIFU, I would do that. You would probably be more successful that way.

I know Gooog and his lovely wife. They are a retired couple and are in no way connected to the HIFU industry or any medical industry. Gooog is a physically fit mountain climber. He simply wants to share his excellent outcome with HIFU. He told me he had zero side effects and his 6 month postop PSA was 0.4

If I had localized prostate cancer, based on Gooog's experience, HIFU would be my 1st option.

One day, HIFU may very well be a normal and FDA approved treatment for PC, until that time comes, and it may be years still, it is out of reach for the average man here, with normal financial and insurances resources to utilize. If one has access to these kinds of resources, and wants to assume all the risk associated with it, then I am 100% in favor of that man having that choice, even if it means having the treatment outside the United States.

I have no associations of any kind with any particular method or practice, I am just a "plain joe" who had the misfortune to contract PC, and in my case, open surgery was the most logical and doable course of action, for me, and for me alone. I am still hoping that my choice was best, as I now await talking to a radiation oncologist just 8 months after major surgery. So what do I know?

If I had some magic answer or methodology for dealing with PC, for one, I would have it done to me first, and secondarly, I would love to share it for free with the rest of PC's victims.

Iggy, I notice that you seem to jump around and throw out comments in multiple forums. Are you a disbared doctor that now wants to get back at somebody?

An aging hippie mad at the establishment? Actually, I figured it out. You are trying to be a comedian and give us laughs each day....

I think that it is the same with gooog. Nobody takes either one of you seriously anymore, so both of you are comedians...

I'm truly sorry about you gentlemen contracting cancer. I honestly tried to be helpful but was met with wrongful accusations, insults, and ridicule.

In an effort to keep the peace, please refrain from these types of exchanges.  We must agree to disagree when necessary.  Iggy, you do not belong in this forum.  It is for prostate cancer patients.   Please post in the forum of your affliction only.
