Sex and PSA Testing Post-RP

Quick question... I have heard it recommended to not have sex prior to a PSA test. Does that same principle apply to those of use who had RP? It would make sense that this does NOT apply since we no longer have a prostate, should not have prostate cells, and thus should not see an increase in PSA if we have sex or even ride a bicycle on a bumpy road to get the blood draw.

What do you think??

This has come up before although I couldn't find the thread. There is some uncertainty since there are some minor sex glands which can also produce small amounts of PSA. My personal rule is to take a day off unless she is very hot and it is your only chance. I have actually never had a chance to apply this since my wife's rule is take the day off period.

The previous thread had the suggestion of avoiding sex before the test to avoid stirring up any residual prostate cells. I have heard of surgery leaving bits of prostate behind, and assume they would continue to do the usual prostate thing -- producing small amounts of PSA.

With my last test being a little up, I will be an abstainer for at least two days before my next. Thinking about Geezer99's concerns: in the unlikely event that I meet a hot doll and this is my only chance, I will postpone the PSA test -- if I survive

So what is the correct answer to the question? Should post surgery guys avoid sex a few days before a PSA test? A little confused by the answers on this one. I wondered the very same thing at my last one, and didn't have sex for 3 or 4 days ahead of time on purpose. Hate to think I missed out on some whoopee for no good reason!

WOW!  These posts just show how important sex is to us old guys.  I used to think you quit having sex when you were 50 or so  -when I was 20.  Glad I was wrong.

But, here we all are,  talking about the possibility of a hot woman  ("I would probably postpone my psa test . . . )  What is that saying,  hope springs eternal ?
