dont do that good life, humor is needed, i make plenty of lame attempts myself at it. as i said to les, somedays, the whole situation just gets to me, just like i am sure it does to you and every other guy here. when i read those posts, i was in a major bummer mood. im ok, no offense taken, no foul.....let the games continue.

todays good news..........first day in ages on this catheter that there has been no blood or weird things in the mix. went out of my way to take it physically easier. guess i will have to do that until i can get through this particular setback.

i would never want to hurt anyone feelings here either, sometimes i speak off the cuff in a crude literal way. so even i have watch my verbage sometimes

I've said it before but I'll say it again. You guys are the best!
If I couldn't joke about my situation here, I would die. As you know I have not told my coworkers or friends. Only immediate family and my neighbors know. I even faked an all day meeting with a coworker two days ago. I was sitting there discussing a project, filling my pants and trying to keep a straight face. I can now change my pads faster than a NASCAR pit crew at Talladega.
Guys, keep smiling! We need it.

That's a pretty impressive feat with your pad changes. During my period of incontinence, I was lucky in a way, unemployed. Way to go dealing with an unpleasant part of our recoveries.

Not all of my pit stops had picture perfect performance. Near the end of the day I discovered that I had accidentally tucked my undershirt inside the "containment vessel". While discussing the merits of various MAV designs I could feel a not unpleasant cool breeze on my belly from the evaporation. I'll have to remember that on hot summer days. The shower felt delicious at the end of the day!
No air tools yet. I need a better compressor. I heard that a 2.5 hp Craftsman is GFMPH.

Jeff, I did the tucked in tshirt trick once or twice, my normal was not realizing that I didnt have enough stream to clear any of my clothing, and would be baffled not to hear any pee hit the toilet. Where do it go? I would ask myself, before discovering wet pants in the front. Oops.

Oh dear what am I missing all this fun you seem to have with your incontinence here I am second day without the catheter and all I seem to do is squirt when I want to pass wind (any ideas on that one would be greatfully accepted)

colin - the squirting while passing wind or coughing is one the first tricks you learn, its takes good patience to learn how to master that. months later, i still worry about that if i am about to rip a big one.

It's only 8 days past my divorce with Cathy the Catheter and my big issue is sitting down and standing up. Sitting down on the toilet is an especially exciting event. I squirt over everything within 18". After cleaning the floor too many times I've started holding a hand towel in my teeth that acts as a shield. (How that for a visual? - You're welcome!)
So far, the only time I feel truly normal is when I am in the shower. Unfortunately we have a well so I can't take a 24 hours shower.
PS. I don't know if it is only me or not, but when I do Kegels, I squirt when I do the first squeeze. (I didn't go to the Uro's physical therapist before the big day. They were supposed to teach me about doing it properly.)

Since you are the Zen Master and have 7x the experience of most mortal men I have a question for you: Is the incontinence caused by the catheter or is it the surgery? Since I have only experienced the "pleasure " after surgery I can not separate the two. But, unfortunately, you have experienced them independently. Did you have to go through this every time the catheter was removed?

Jeff, in my infamous experience, it is the surgery that causes the incontinence. Not the catheters. When I have had some long from surgery, I was dry after removal of the cath.

Your account there did quite amuse me, I never had excessive squirting as a problem, my was severe lack of flow since the surgery, as opposed to being the race horse I use to be pre surgery.

I had hernia repairs done on my abdomen and had mesh put in about 10 years ago. The DaVinci dance entailed going under the mesh, down to the family jewels. So.... my abdomen is really sore and bulging in a few places. I have to hold it with two hands to sit down. Thus, the towel in the teeth trick. It works by the way. Looks ridiculous, but works. I haven't had to wash off the bathroom scale (and wall) since I started doing it. :-)

Once you get the no squirt when farting routine, then you must master the no pooping while peeing. Too many times I have had a little goober in my pants because when I go to relax to make it squirt, it relaxes the other end as well.

That's why I have have extra of everything in my car and truck !

Oh Goodlife, Thanks for the heads up. I never knew there would be so many milestones. I think I'll make a chart and post on it on the kitchen wall, so my wife can track my progress. Does "no peeing while laughing" come before or after the "no pooping while peeing"?
Inquiring minds want to know.

All bets are off on laughing. Probably why I am using so many pairs of underwear a day. I think I told you about the clamp, have I mentioned the plug yet ?

Hey guys! My wife got a good laugh over the "peeing" and "pooping" discussion. Both of us have had issues with both of them. So, we can relate pretty well.

Gene, we are way beyond having the normal social graces about such vulgar subjects of peeing and pooping, comes with the turf. Glad you enjoyed it so much.
