Sling Procedure Coming Up

Hi........Bill Ennis from Towanda, PA here. I'm going to schedule the Advance Male Sling procedure for mid-September. I've had incontinence issues every since my prostate surgery 4 years ago and have finally decided ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!! I'm having it done by Dr. Robert Mayer up to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Any comments on what to expect?

Bill,  I had a Advance Sling done also.  I am would like to know how much you are leaking?  How many pads a day?  I know how it is being one of the "leakers".  You can check the links below to learn more about my sling adventure.  I will be checking back to answer any questions.  I wish you well.

hi  bill  I had the advanced male sling in June 08,   It was very succcessful.  I was wearing 4 to 8 pads a day.  Now there is no leakage unless I  postpone going to the bath room.    You will have almlost no pain,, but lots of bruising in gential area and soreness for a few days.  Use donut riding.  Otherwise Its the best thing I have done.  I had prost. cancer and removal in May of 07,  ahd had the incont until the day after this surgery.  My urologists had only done 1, but agout 300 slings in women so I trusted him..  You will do fine..

Re: how much I leak.......I wear a full diaper (either Depends for Men or Tena brand) and usually just one per day. I don't leak hardly at all in the evening in bed...but sometimes heavy leakage during daytime if activities are strenuous...but, normally, I only partially "soak" one underwear per day. I guess that might be considered only "moderate" by some, but it's becoming very, very annoying after 4 years of wearing padding 24/7. I'm looking forward to getting the sling procedure and I hope and pray that it'll give me what I'm looking for--or at least help greatly. I'll report my progress.....Thanks guys!
