Home From The Hospital

Just got home from the hospital.  Piece of cake today, no holding pattern in the Operating Rooms.  Great nursing care, my doctor was in a good mood, all went well.  Will check in later, head still swimming and just took some pain meds.  Thanks in advance for all the care and concern in advance.

Dr. told my wife that he thinks hes got a good opening with the laser.  Did not have to dialate again ,as the previous one was holding so far.  I will be on this cath, and this is really the real #7, until a week from next Monday, not sure what the date will be.

When I was in college I was dating a girl who was a Spanish major and so I asked a South American friend for a special way to say goodnight in Spanish. The phrase he gave me meant “may you sleep with the angels” but when my girl heard it she thought I was wishing her dead. A doomed romance.

Had a great pre-op prep nurse, she got the IV in me without me feeling a single pinch or pain, the first for that, the fact that she was beautiful too didn't hurt my feelings.

Even though they IV'd me some happy med prior to wheeling me off, I was fully awake going into the OR, I will able to assit them getting me situated on the OR table. My dr and I joked back and forth a few times. Then when they went to lower the mask on me, the guy dropped it out of his hands it nailed my head. That was a real crowd pleaser in the OR. The last thing I remember was someone out of the corner of my eyes putting a syringe into my IV, and then blam, was in the recovery room.

I must say, and brag, and have said this here before, there is good reason why St. Francis Hospital here in Greenville, SC wins year after year for having the best patient care in the entire state. Great staff, great attitude, and that makes a big difference when you are the patient.

This, and I hope its the final one anytime soon, catheter number 7, is due out Monday August 31st. My dr doesnt feel that I will have any trouble getting quickly dry again, perhaps a day or two, not like after the main surgery last November. Hope he is right on that point.

It will be nice to pee again and not be on a cath. He did tell me to really lay off any unneeded walking, climbing stairs, and anything real physical. Says I got to stick by that this time, and perhaps I won't have some of the bleeding episodes I have been having. Can continue to use the ditropan for spasms as needed.

Glad to be home ,and like we tell all our surgery brothers, glad to be on the recovery side of this corrective surgery.

I told several staff there about HW, and they said they would check us out.

Glad that everything went well it is good that I can give you advice after all the good advice you have given my in the past days Do what you doctor tells you rest and let the healing process work for you not against you keep well

Thank you one and all since I last checked in. Felt puny all evening, kind of nauseated which is a feeling I am not accustomed too, can't tell if it were dinner, meds, or being put under today. Perhaps a touch of all of the above. Instead of feeling sleepy, feeling kind of wired out. Your support and care me very much to me.
