Had an AUS put in yesterday

Back in june I decided to have an AUS done, my doctors told me the male sling would not be my best solution. Surgery went well went in at 7:00 am I was all done and home by 12:30 pm I am sore but surpeised I expected worst. Now I will have to wait 6 weeks before thet activate the AUS. I have researched alot about the AUS and all appears to be very positive. If this fixes the leaking I will be one happy dude.

BTW my 6month check up in june PSA is 0 I am now 2+ years at ZERO

Thanks David, after I had the balloon Dialation done on March which really helped with the flow problem I went from about 2 - 3 pads a day to 5- 6 a day. Makes me crazy when I was out in public for any length of time. the testing that I had done showed I only had about 75 - 80% control did kegel's for 8 months and it helped to a degree. I went to see Dr Allen Morey UTSouthwestern in Dallas TX and my regular Uro doctor Motha Collin County Urology and they both told me that the AUS has been very successful the male sling is a good alternative but t is better for those who have more control.

My doctors never sugarcoated any thing they told me I sould get back to 95 - 99% control probably never will be 100% but if I can get to one lite pad a day I will be good with that.

I am able to walk ok sitting in a chair is not very comfortable so I sit in bed mostly and thank god for the pain meds they help alot.

I am coming up on my 2.5 year mark and even though the leaking sucks I am cancer free so if this is the price I have to pay to not have cancer so be it.

I will be surprised if you aren't very happy when you get your AUS activated. Prior to my activation in July, I was going through 4 diapers and 7-8 pads in a 24 hour period. Now, I wear a ladies light pad during the day. So far, I've only experienced some slight leakage when I sneeze or cough hard. I've done some yard work, cutting grass and weed-eating and there were no problems with that or playing golf. I empty my bladder about every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, basically when I feel the need to "go".

Dr. Morey also did my implants.  I too wear one light panti liner per day to catch dribbles & drips.  You will be pleased.
