I spent weeks reading all of the post to educate myself prior to my Da Vinci surgery that took place on 09/17/09. I came home the next day and so far so good.I am 50 yrs old .Thanks to all of you I know just about
everything to expect from here out. Dr. Kristofer Wagner at Scott and White Hospital in Temple,Tx. did a great job.

Welcome Wes. You and I are on the same track and timeline. I too had my surgery on the 17th, in Detroit. Hope you are doing as good as I am. No big surprises yet. I agree with you whole-heartedly, the guys here at HW prepared me as well as I could have hoped to be. I went into surgery so much more calmly and confident than I would have if not for their support, knowledge, prayers and blessings.
Please know the you and your family have been added to the prayers of my wife and I for your continued and PCa free recovery.

Welcome to the other side and best wishes for an uneventful recovery. As you have no doubt seen, the standard advice is walk, walk, drink, drink. Remember that your body has been through a lot and recovery is a road not a race.

Wes,
Every year 60000 men have PCa surgery. You are now in the <1% of Americans walking around shooting air balls. Heck, Mensa criteria is the top 2%. You've joined an elite club.
Congratulations!

Great news Wes.
Drink lots of water and get up and walk as often as you can.
In a couple of days you'll be wanting to get rid of that catheter.
It couldn't happen too soon for me.
But it's in there for that length of time for a reason - Healing.
When mine was removed after ten days, the nurse had to tell me she'd removed it.
I didn't feel a thing.
Good luck mate.

Hi Wes, welcome to the other side. Get up and walk when you can but don't overdo it. You will get better day after day. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.
