A breakdown of "where people are from"

With some time on my hands, entered and broke down where our people are from.   Right now, I only did the stats from the United States brothers.  Will do the foreign ones next time.  For data, used the thread that James C just bumped up.

We comprised of men from 43 of the 50 United States.

The top five member states were:

1st Place - a tie between Texas and California

2nd Place - Florida

3rd Place - New Jersey

4th Places - New York

No surprises  there based on current population trends.

13 states are represented by 1 member only.

North Dakota, South Dakota are among states with no members, still trying to figure out the other missing states.

I was curious about this breakdown, perhaps others are as well.

It makes sense that California and Texas are the leaders since they are the 2 most populous states. However, I was surprised that Florida, with all the retirees wasn't even higher.

I thought the data might show some PC clusters with higher concentrations in certain areas. That way Brainsurgeon and I could have applied for an NIH grant to study it. But alas, it looks like we'll have to continue doing "real" work.

Ohio, thanks. It may interest you to know, in my distant past, long before I got into accounting/finance, I was a draftsman in the pre-computerized drafting days. I use to work for a company in Dallas as a design draftsman for on the Teledyne companies that made oil field equiptment. I don't remember what they did, but whatever it was went down as they were drilling. At the time, I found it interesting.

My career didn't last long, as there was almost no work for left handed draftsmen in those days, the younger generation doesn't quite understand, but my lettering was reverese of what was wanted, my hands smeared drawings sometimes, and there was no such thing as left handed inking gear back in the days of ink drawings. I was good on the design side, but guess sloppy on the neatness part, lol.

I too, pray for all our brothers here, old and new, and their wives and families. Where it is important for all of us to be on the same page, is in figthing the evil incarnate Prostate Cancer beast. It's unlike anything else I had to fight in my life. Its unfair, doesn't play by the rules, changes the rules at wills, and hits and misses with our brethren, you and I included.

We are in this war together, doesn't matter where we are from, the color of our skin, or our politics or religion, we have to keep fighting the fight, not only for our lives at t his moment ,but for the endless line of brothers who keep joining our ranks every day.

These are 193 names that actually responded James C's poll. Hundreds and hundreds more. And a huge number monitors the page even still (Lurkers).

Tony, I stated at the top of this thread that my data was based on Jame's bumped "where are you from" thread. I figured there had to be a whole lot more people and names somewhere.

Wild guess, but I would think there were probably 75 to 100 or so that are active and participating now, but we have literally thousands of lurkers who don't register. The major search engines usually will put us up in the top 3 with most of the most common PCa related words.

I think the following link is open to everyone, at least I can see it, but I am a Mod, so it might be different. You can watch here and se the activity across all the boards and get a feel for how active ours is, after a few days of flowing along.

I was a lurker for quite some time before officially joining a couple months ago. I certainly gleaned some valuable information and insight even though I discovered HW after my surgery..........so we must never underestimate how much good we are doing for members and lurkers alike............And I thought I might be able to flush another Delawarean out of the weeds by going public :-)
