There is no history of cancer in my family at all.

A long time ago, when I was a competitive cyclist, an experienced racer who would ask me after a good training ride or when I had won, "Is it worth it?"

"Worth what?" I'd ask.

"The prostate surgery you're going to have when you're 55." he'd reply.

I thought it was a joke. I know there is no science to it. But over the last few weeks that question has been playing in my head over and over and over.

Asians have the lowest rate of prostate cancers, especially the Chinese.

Their form for transportation is "cycling". My cycling team think what cause prostate cancer in the western world are "cars".

It would be a good idea if there is away to find out if cycling really causes prostate cancer.

Does anyone have any idea?

I believe the problem lies in the seats, I suspect the Chinese use a much larger flat seat vs the thin racing seats that rub right up against the Prostate the many US riders use

Asians eat a mainly plant-based diet as opposed to North American Meat based diets. There have been many books written on this subject including the China Study by T. Colin Campbell, and Living to 100 and The Food Revolution by John Robbins ( of Baskin Robbins family fame ). All forms of cancer and heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure are almost unheard of in societies that are vegetarian.

Although Asians diet contains lots of pork and chicken, including their fats for flavor, I do agree that over consumption of animal fat is bad for human systems.

My diet for the past 30 years is 98% animal fat-free. No health problems except for the past 5,6 years having a moderate urination problem due to enlarged prostate, and lately was told I have a T1C PC G6.

I watch what I eat, mostly organic and well made products, but I am always on the look out for any food or drink that causes me any digestive problem and I eliminate it from my diet.

Our system always give us an early warning, ignore it and we get in trouble. Doctors and experts tell us what to do after the facts, what our body system was telling us long,long time before the facts.

cycling, walking and other physical activities decrease my "voiding problem by 75%.
Driving my car, sitting around at work or watching TV and inactivity increase it by 75%.

Go figure, a guy who plays it by the book has PC.
