Hi everyone, well couldn't wait until January, so had some blood taken Wednesday, came back at 0.6 , which is the same as it was in August, still as I have been 0.5 or thereabout
s for 2 1/2 years, it is a small rise, but a rise it is, seeing my Uro in January, next PSA then, we will see what happens.
Regards Mal.

We've got our fingers crossed that it stays low.

It is a small rise but nevertheless a rise. Stay positive and hopeful. I to go back in Jan for another test.

Mal,
Too bad it was even a small rise, but you still may be holding your own. Hopefully the January test will show that it is at least staying at that level. Wishing the best for you.

Maldugs,
I completed 37 IMRT treatments in July. Had my PSA done last week. Still the same as before IMRT .18. Hopefully it will stay there for awhile or decrease. Good luck to you.

Good luck Maldugs, hope everything works out fine and you get that PSA down to zero.

Your case perplexes me Mal,
But I am not complaining. Your results are good. But the PSA just hangs around. But as long as the numbers are holding, so it is. Good job!

Mal,
Hopefully the number drop on your next test in January. If they stay that low may be you don't have to do anything at all.

Thanks to you all, it is perplexing that after the RP/IMRT etc, the PSA is still hanging around, somewhere inside me the little ***** are hiding and sending their message it seems, however at the moment I feel very well and enjoying life, will see what happens in January.

mal,
is it possible your psa readings are one of the rare residual psa tissue cases? my oncologist said that isnt common, but it can be, a small sliver of healthy prostate tissue still producing non cancerous psa in minute ammounts?

Hey Mal, how you going. The increase is a bit of a pain but perhaps it should be looked at as a slight fluctuation. As the figures are whole numbers then perhaps the computer setting rounds figures up or down to the nearest whole number. Earlier ones may have actually been 0.54 rounded down to 0.5 while the latest may have been 0.55 rounded up to 0.6. Seen like that there may not really have been an change over the two years. I am pulling for you that that is the explanation. Best wishes,
Bill
