Haven't posted in a while but I've been lurking occasionally. I'd like to update you on my hubby's progress at the 3 month mark of surgery.
The great news is PSA is 0.03. Thank God for that.
It was pretty rough after the cath came out. Pee literally poured out of him for a couple of weeks, and he was quite depressed. The doc had him go to PT at 3 wks, where he found out he was kegeling incorrectly. He went a few times and learned other exercises including using an exercise ball. Today, he's at one pad/day with squirts here and there (as he says). He's running about 4 miles and working with weights, and on those days, it's a little worse. He's in a much better mood, and tells people he's 90% there.
As far as ED, not so much progress. Got the Augusta pump (insurance paid for most of it), and uses it as therapy almost every day. So far it hasn't helped much with a workable erection but it's getting better. Insurance pays for viagara and cialis (also got samples of Levitra), and taking that along with pumping works a little better. He is starting to feel a little something down there he says. The doc said he's still healing and it can take up to 18 months to completely heal. Who knew. Anyway, we're like kids experimenting in the bedroom.
He's back to working part time, although we both took February off to to go south for a month. It really helped both our spirits. We spend a lot more time together now than before PCa. It was a wake up call for us.
I hope to drop in more and give support to other members. This site has helped me so much. Thanks to all of you.
