Joey:
I was not satisfied with my local uro for advanced PCa treatment. I told him I intended to contact Myers and he gave his blessing. He was aware of Dr. Myers and his work. I still go to him for necessary injections and any related uro issues.
In my opinion, the patient who will have the best experience with Myers is the educated patient. If you have discussed your case with other patients and perhaps medical personnel, have read Myers's book(s) and are aware of standard treatment options for those with your stage and history then you can collaborate with him.
He takes no insurance and a first consultation will be expensive. You will receive an overall assessment of your health. If you are overweight or a smoker, expect to address the issue. He is not tolerant of patients who intend to ignore his advice. As with any such consultation it is best to have someone with you to listen and transcribe, and remind you of the issues you need to discuss with him. Most of his patients are distant ,some from outside the US. I think he said 90% are beyond commuting distance.
