Anyone get acid reflux post-op?

I'm up to 2 Zantac per day. Never had any issues w/ heartburn before. I'm staying away from spicy food, which I love, and grease. Maybe just a product of turning 50?

Not sure but it could be caused by all of the gas from surgery and the anesthia. I had acid reflux prior and was taking Prevacid, but now just taking Pecid dual action due to reports about the stronger meds effects on bones. Hopefully yours is just a glitch that will "pass' soon.

Not sure what it is but, mine quit post op. Had been on acid reflux for about 3 + years. My surgeon couldn't figure it out either. My cats quit sniffing around my groin also.

The surgery can have a significant impact on the bowels, which are close to the prostate. The pain meds can also have an effect. I had an ileus post-surgery, which was a very painful complication. Had to watch gas, etc for many weeks after the surgery. Like other symptoms, it should subside as time goes by.

My husband had a problem with heartburn post surgery. His doctor suggested Pepcid and Tums. The heartburn eventually went away, but I don't remember how long it took - maybe a week or so.

In the future, if you are taking ED drugs like Cialis, they will also cause acid reflux.
