hello everyone. i haven't logged in for awhile but recently i've been lurking. i'm seeing the question about
surgery vs. radiation alot lately and i just wanted to update you and give you my opinion
my doctor, a surgeon, said i was not a good candidate for surgery because i have a 60% chance that my PC is out of the capsule, even tho CT and BS show nothing. my prostate is small and i have no growths or obstructions.
my doctor recommended HT + BT + IMRT and that's what i went with. if you are unsure how to proceed and haven't read this article maybe you should.

i have been on lupron for five months so far and have another four months to go (three shots total). i also had brachytherapy three months ago (40 cesium pellets) and today i've had my 19th IMRT treatment and i have nine to go. i get my last shot of lupron about a week after my last dose of IMRT.
my brachy doctor is a young dude and he did four procedures that day and more than 3k lifetime. my urologist assisted him. i went home with a catheter which my urologist took out the next morning, which did not hurt.
there of course have been side effects but nothing excruciating or intolerable. the most painful treatment so far was the first DRE from my urologist. he was brutal .
hey gotta run. i'll check back later.
