Thanks for all those details. I guess, however, that bad as it was, it's the lesser of two evils as things sound like they are improving, which is what it was all about.
So what did you do with the final catheter. Have you had it gold plated and framed? Or was it consigned to a fiery furnace?
(And in passing your account of having too many visitors can serve as a reminder to us all not to hang around too long if we're visitors rather than patients. There is indeed a big difference in the period immediately after a surgery when you want a very short visit as you're trying to rest and a situation a few days later when you may need longer visits to stop yourself feeling bored or lonely
When my mother was in hospital we used to take it in turns to have a couple of minutes at her bedside, then we'd all go away and do a few errands for her; we'd then come back after a couple of hours during which time she would have had a sleep, and so we could have another session of a couple of minutes each without tiring her.)
