Let me add my $.02 here. I recently had to change medical insurance. My last provider dropped all of their Colorado customers. Thus I no longer had access to their mail order drugs. No big deal as I was able to transfer most of them over to the VA soon after I applied for VA medical care. But VA doesn't provide some generic drugs if the price can be had cheaper locally like at Wal-Mart. My lisinopril is such a drug and now get it at Wal-Mart. It comes in a hard plastic container within are foil wrapped individual pills. Looking at the packing states it's manufactured in Mumbai, India.

I saw a post you posted awhile back that said "Wheras Caverject is on hold, per FDA until July 2010 you can get a script for the PROSTAGLANDIN E1 40MCG/CC and have a compounding pharmacy "make it". It is the exact compound by caverject. I got a 10cc vial (liquid) and I will get 40 shots from it. All roads lead to Rome but use the toll free route."

Are you saying with the Prostaglandin E1 you can store it and use it multiple times after it has been mixed with bacteriostic water? If so am I correct that it stores for around 30 days but can also be frozen for a year? any help you can provide me will be fantastic. Caverject is so darn expensive!

my insurance company has approved viagra for me....four 100mg pills a month.  my cost is $30.  otherwise i would either be buying generics from india or the real deal from canada at a much lower cost. i refuse to pay the erection tax. if my doctor doesn't like that he can pay for my prescription locally cool .

The drugs from ADC seem to do what they are supposed to do..The .60 cent Viagra works just as well as the $18 Viagra..That is probably true for all the other "TV" drugs..

i've taken both the indian viagra and the real deal. alas neither could overcome the lupron.  i'll check them again in six months or so devil .

Yes you can freeze it and use it after a year. Get it at a compounding pharma and I have a vial over 1 year old and it works fine. Trimix is even better as there is very little soreness. Happy to answer your questions. Watch the 4hr window and go easy on how much you inject.

I've been looking at trimix. It seems there are a billion mixes for it. I'm pretty sure my doctor won't be familiar with it so what ratio should I tell him?

Google Trimix--contains 3 ingredients and your doc should know and if not make sure your doc knows what he is ordering

There are 2 'standard' formulas used, at least among the guys here. Others may chime in with variations, but usually here is what they prescribe:

First formula:

30mg of Papaverine per 1 ml of sterile water
1mg of Phentolamine per 1 ml of sterile water
10mcg of Alprostadil per 1 ml of sterile water

Second formula:
30mg of Papaverine per 1 ml of sterile water
1mg of Phentolamine per 1ml of sterile water
20mcg of Alprostadil per 1ml of sterile water

Bimix formula is:
30mg of Papaverine per 1ml of sterile water
1mg of Phentolamine per 1ml of sterile water.

Most prescriptions are for a 5ml vial of this formula, obtained at a compounding pharmacy, which is a different creature from a regular pharmacy. Here's a recent list of some of the ones we used here:

LoL for the record I was aware there are three meds in Trimix. I was referring to the dosage of each of the three medications. For the sake of clairity this is what I have learned so far.

1. Prostaglandin E1 Can be ordered from a compounding pharmacy as 40MCG/CC. This can be mixed and used over 30 days and/or frozen for future use.
2. Trimix has 3 meds, works just as well, but causes less soreness. This can also be mixed and/or frozen.

So far so good or am I missing anything? Also, Can you thaw, draw the necessary meds, and refreeze the vial multiple times?

I apologize for my ignorance I just haven't much experience here and I don't want to make a mistake. I have no insurance so any way to save money and still enjoy those coveted marital benefits is a good thing. Thank you all for your help!

DKay, I attempted to answer your question in my post just preceding yours. It contains all the info a doctor would need to prescribe to a compounding pharmacy. By the you, the PGE-1 (Prostaglandin E1 ) you mention is also known as Alprostadil, same drug, different name. so, yes, it is available at a compounding pharmacy, as it is part of the formula that makes up Trimix, hence they have to have it on hand.

If I didn't, or others didn't answer your question clearly, could you restate it in a different way. Maybe we are just misunertranding your question. The issue with PGE/Alprostadil isn't so much soreness but sometimes painful aching in the penis. I'd had it several times and can attest that it goes way beyond soreness... devil
