A few who are early in this ugly game may find this calculator interesting. Within this calculator, it does not even have an entry for gleasons 7 or more.

not a very detailled nomogram - the only key factors were: family-related - yes/no ; age; ease of /frequency of urination; PSA... and with my stats plugged in, I was only at a 21% risk of having prostate cancer ( HA!!) - nothing about gleason or possible staging or DRE ...
-they seem to have spent more of the time persuading readers NOT to have testing done.... as if to cover their asses...

I just heard a program on NPR about prostate cancer (for prostate awareness month in September) and they spent half the program saying that it is not even agreed that screening should be done at all. And I thought the thrust of the program was to discourage men from having PSA tests done. I was pretty disgusted....they kept saying only 3% of the 28% of men who get prostate cancer will die of it - or something like that. AS IF throwing away 3% of men was an OK trade off for the expense of testing and treatment.
