It's crying tears cause it misses it's buddy the catheter. Yeah right. The Doc said "it will drip some". It's a faucet. But hey, I'm on my way. 10 days of that thing and I'm not looking back. I voted on my way back from the hospital. I was standing in the voting booth and a guy I coached soccer with steps into the booth next to me and asks "how's it going"?  What should i say- just fine, by the way I've never voted in a diaper before. I settled for telling him I just had surgury.  We vote at the retirement home (not that I'm saying anything by that) at least I was in good company.

Kegels and walking right. My doberman is looking forward to the walking part. I have a month before I am due back to work (Dec 6th). Hope I don't need it all.

You are dedicated, voting wet!

Sounds like my first days. Diapers and pads - lots of them!

But you are up and around, and looking at the grass from the green side, so all is good.

At least the men at the retirement home know what its all about - you've made the voter's cycle - can't vote in diapers to wish your vote counted in diapers. Same here - standing at the booth with a warm feeling, just didn't come from the vote part.

Being rid of the snake is Great!

Mike - please be careful walking the dog - have someone else hold the leash - remember play it safe for the first 6 weeks ( no lifting anything over 10 pounds) - and I think that counts for the doberman as well -

It takes a while to move on with the pads/depends issues.  Don't loose heart it gets better. First during the night, then in the morning, then ( I am told) in the evening.

I never walked before.. now 3 miles a day.. a habit i'm in.  I mix with the Keggles and I am 98% ok - no pads. I started toying with the light weights a few weeks after surgery.. you can tell when you can go the next step. It does get better.. I know every situation is different, but I was scared as heck that what I got is what I got... but you really can tell, between the walking, and then less pad stuff, time really does do some good. Hope you'll be ok.

Congratulations and yes, it does get better. For me it has has not been a "straight road" to recovery. But the twists and turns are fewer every day.

Great post Mike and now enjoy your walks. As Bronson mentioned, please watch the weights. So if you have a journal you can write that you have voted for the very first time in a diaper. The Grandkids will love that story. The best to you.

I'm 5 weeks past having my catheter removed. I've seen lots of improvement on the incontinence front. Today, I managed to play a round of golf and barely wet the pad. It really does get better. I was very impatient in the beginning but am getting used to dealing with it...and noting the day-to-day improvement.

As others have said, things will get better. In the meantime you can actually get used to the idea that at the same time you are chatting with the supermarket clerk you are peeing in your pants

The nurse told me no dog walking (17 lb dog) for 6 weeks. You don't want anything inside being pulled around.

You all are all right and alright.

Steve must be a walking thesaurus LOL.

I can't walk him yet. Roko is 90# and is quite good at heelling. My wife had him the first block and let me hold him for a second, it was going great until we saw the neighbors cat. He looked up at me like "dad can I?". I let him go (we both hate that critter and there was no way the cat was going to get caught). His zeal for life and his joy made me laugh. Truthfully, if something weird happened or sombody threatend me I would probably get hurt trying to hold him back. I'll wait awhile.
