Hello Guys and Gals!

I've been a constant lurker but thought I'd drop a line. I see a lot of new names, and it saddens me to see all the new folks having their lives disrupted by this disease we all share.

Just passed the first anniversary of my wifes death, I still miss her so much, she was my rock all through my diagnosis and treatment. On a happier note, my 2 year PSA was again undetectable, which had my surgeon very pleased. He tells me I'm the first patient he's had with an initial PSA as high as mine who has not had a reoccurrence in the 6 month to 1 year range. I don't know why I've been blessed this way, but who am I to question it?

Anyway, as we head into the holiday season I want to wish all my PCa brothers continued good health, and big fat Zeros in their stockings.

Thanks for the holiday wishes.  I'm supposed to have my first post-op PSA in the next 2 weeks.  Surgery was on September 16th.  While I'm expecting a good result, I've decided to put it off until after the holidays.  I don't want to end up sitting around, waiting for that call from the doctor or, even worse, getting that call and finding out that things aren't as good as I expect them to be.  I figure why should I put myself in the position of possibly putting a damper on the holiday season for me and my family?

Ralph,

I remember you from a couple of years ago. I am so sorry to read about your wife's death. I think it's good that some of us who have been around awhile pop in from time to time. All the best on your continued recovery!

Hey Gunner, yes I do remember you, thanks for checking in, and pleased to see things looking good with the PSA. You have had a tough ride, but hopefully things will improve as time moves on. Cheers .....................Kev

Such a loss leaves a hole that makes the heart ache. My profound sympathy and at the same time congratulations on the PSA result. You can be secure in the knowledge that your rock would be pleased.

Ralph,

Has it been a year? I vividly remember your post. I was sitting at the kitchen table when I read it... and reread it... and then I started to cry. Why? I didn't know you at all but I sure felt for you.
I'm sure it was the drugs.
My PSA was not far behind yours, 23.2, and I, too, am at <0.01 at one year.

Thanks for checking in. You just made my holiday a little bit brighter.

Good to hear from you, kind of a bittersweet report you give. I remember you quite well, hard to believe its been a year ago. Still so sorry for your personal loss, but its good news with your PSA. Please stay in touch.

I too have been here a long time. I do remember when you posted the news of your wife. We all felt so sad for you. It is part of life but so hard to understand. I am very happy that your are still in the Zero club. Know that we think about you frim time to time. It is so nice to see our old friends pop in to give us updates.

Thanks for all the kind words, they mean a lot. It's good to see so many familiar names after 2 years. As I've followed along with your posts, I've cheered the good news and wept with the bad.

Again, thanks for being there when it has counted.
