I found it interesting that everyone except my doctor wanted me to lose weight and get in shape before surgery. My GP said don't push it, too much change too fast is not good for anyone. I settled for walking a lot, which I did do in the past.
Having had a winter recovery, getting out to run wouldn't happen anyway -
My bone scan came back lit up like a Christmas tree in my legs - they found every broken bone I'd ever had, and a few I didn't even remember. That reminded me why I don't like sports.
