LOL. This is just way too much. This was a topic on the InfoLink and here as well, just won't go away...
Have a look:
www.cnn.com/video/#/video/health/2010/12/29/nr.cohen.cancer.risk.cnn?hpt=T2

They have been running that story all day. The only good thing about
it is that they are suggesting men should not put much into the validity of the story, but see their doctor and be tested. PC awareness anyway we can get it is better than nothing.

My middle finger on both hands is longer than any of the others, is that a good or bad thing to this silly report?

what I was pleased with the CNN report, was the host stating, he was"freaking out" - given his family history (a risk), he is black ( a risk), and his ring finger was longer than his index finger (a risk allegedly due to more testosterone while in the womb) .... but he clarifies it by stating (to paraphrase) "that men should start a conversation with their doctor"....
-that's information being shared through the side door ... it filters in... and that is a good thing...

I put up a poll about
our fingers a few weeks ago, so have been following it.
I thought the CNN report was a bit light and simplistic, and could leave some people in a bit of a muddle about
the concepts of what a scientific theory is. (ie a hypothesis can be supported by evidence, but a theory can never really be proven.)
The inaccurate reporting of this story and some comments about
it in the media recently almost make it sound like someone in the UK has said that your fingers will give you prostate cancer.
The important facts are simply that:
some people are more at risk of developing prostate cancer than others,
one of the relevant factors in developing prostate cancer is testosterone levels, and
finger lengths look like they are related to testosterone levels.
thus the conclusion of the report is simply that finger length may help doctors tell who needs to be screened differently (just as analysis of family history does).

I just pulled my finger and everyone had to leave the room. :)
(Both ring fingers are slightly longer.)

They are not a news organization- LOL........LOL..... (ok they are!)
All I can say is been looking at PCa issues many years now, and still it is just to hard to finger it all out. (no comedy club for me....maybe I can get soup at the Seinfeld's soup shop)

Holy moly! Both of my ring fingers are noticeably longer. I also just read that penis is typically three times the length of the thumb.

Good one, Tony!
My ring and index fingers are the same length.

I wish it was.

Keysailfisher,
That statement is certainly true for me. The three times I checked, both were exactly the same size. (Isn't that how we were supposed to do it?)
