PSA DOWN FROM 144 -20 in 3 months

Although that is a fair to decent response, idealistically you would hope it would be either into non-detectable levels or very low, say less than 1.0 or ideally less for i.e. , for so called excellent results. I didn't have undetectable level either and was a very good response but not the ideal level that some others do achieve, via comparisons. It may drop further and if so, should show that results in the following month for comparisons. You may or may not drop down closer to the bottom out levels, monitor it within a month to get an idea. I used to track my psa every month for along time...found out it was in my best interests, walk-in psa testings were only costs $15 and mailed to me...plus whatever I got through a doc.

It is an excellent response for such an elevated PSA. The key is to observe the trend as often as possible by testing your PSA. You might consider adding an antiandrogen (such as Casodex) and a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor (such as Proscar or Avodart). These are recommended for those diagnosed with potentially more aggressive disease. For the moment, enjoy your response to treatment and we wish you the best possible outcome!

leeanlgo- Ralph (rafinaz) is probably 'the' guy here with the most among all of us, as to having quality time, research and observation on PCa, Ralph can correct me but it might be 15+ yrs. and literally has seen it all. I have seen my share in about 9 yrs. of this stuff and on forums, newletters and such. You might want to ask Ralph some direct questions for additional food for thought, alot of us have some experience and thoughts on PCa (many perspectives on this dynamic beast). My 'laid persons' guess is you are dealing with perhaps some androgen inpendent PCa cells, and you might add response by things Ralph mentioned or consider other drugs now or in the future. Suggest you get busy now looking at everything possible on PCa, and I would not leave it all to just one doc unless you had the reknown specialists (like about 8-10 of them around) e.g.:  Dr. Scholz, Lam, Hu, Meyers, Sartor, Volgelzang, Leibowitz etc. Checkout:

THanks once again guys,i have a few more questions i would like to ask if you dont mind.

i was concerned that i may have androgen independent cells with my psa not coming in below 0.5,but do some of us respond differntly with psa decrease times being longer i.e will it maybe take another month or two for the lowest point or is this not normally the case.

Secondly,and regarding a diferent matter,can vigourous excersise induce testosterone production even whilst on ht(zoladex) and can this interfere with psa levels ?
