Bimix/Trimix in the UK

I have lurked on this Forum for more than a year – since I started off down the road that so many of you have travelled. Though I’ve never posted, I have found the information here priceless beyond measure. It has been my strongest prop – full of hard knowledge, insight, wit and optimism. Thank you all for your contributions.

I’m posting now because I seem to have run up against something of a brick wall. Today I had my first ED injection – Caverject, 10 months post Da Vinci. Sure, it worked, where the Viagra, the Cialis and the pump didn’t. But oh did it hurt! There is no way I’ll be looking at intercourse on that! I’ll be phoning urology tomorrow to tell them not to bother sending me a prescription.

Now I’ve read here a lot of guys having the same experience with prostaglandin who have then been fine with bimix. It seems to be the way to go. My problem is that here in the UK we don’t seem to do bimix (or trimix). It seems the concept of a compounding pharmacy just doesn’t exist, so there is nowhere to get it.

Do any of you Brit guys (or others) on here have any advice on this? Is it possible to get bimix in the UK? If not, can I source it myself – either from the US or elsewhere? Looking forward to your help.

GDW, I don't have an answer for you. Caverject worked fine for me but $$$$ as heck.. Have tried Bi-Mix and it works just as good. Hope you find a way to get it there. Have you asked at your pharmacy if there is a compounding pharmacy in the UK. You Uro may well have an answer for you as well.

Even better news. Spontaneous, unassisted, Class A erection last night. Must be a week since I last took a Cialis. So maybe the prescription can go to the back of the drawer, too.

I'm telling you this, not to crow, but because I want to share the good news. When I started off down this long road, I looked every day on this Forum for encouragement. There wasn't a great deal - maybe because guys were bashful, didn't want to seem to be showing off or had just moved on from here. But I felt better every time I heard some other guy's good news story. Anyway, there it is, for anyone who will take encouragement from it.

And tomorrow is the first anniversary of my Da Vinci.

Interesting comments on Tri-mix. All 3 drugs used to compound Tri-mix are available in parental form (i.e. sterile) in the UK. Papaverine with difficulty however. So from a technical point of view one could compound the injection oneself. I am also told by my pharmacist (a large wholesale and retail pharmacy) that he has been asked to source papaverine injection and I gather (but didn't press him) that one doctor is prescribing it as mono-therapy. I understand it is much less uncomfortable than Caverject. This discomfort with Caverject is (it is supposed) made worse by recent surgery. I personally find the discomfort little to bother me but then I have not had prostate surgery.
