erect aid pump

We just saw the representative today for the erect aid pump. He explained how it worked and said erections do occur with device. My husband is supposed to use it twice a day. I dished out over $500 for it and have to wait to get reimbursed by insurance. It also has a ring that he can put over his penis for sex. My question is-Does this device really work or did I just waste my money?

I am using the Erectaid system. I am very pleased with it! start out slow and gentle short durations of time and build up. I started with a few minutes three times a day went up to 15-20 minutes once a day. I saw the biggest advances to having spontanious erections after starting the use of the Erectaid system! I still pump every day for at least 10 minutes. You will find that initially when you let the suction off it goes down quickly, the more you practice with it you will be able to maintain longer afterwards without the ring. As far as the rings go.....the rings are for sex...and should be able to maintain a 100% firm erection for no more than 30 minutes. sometimes the erection from a pump can be difficult to use but with practice there you two will get the hang of it.

I don't think you will be disappointed... I spent $130 on an Osbon and only practiced once before successful sex. It was a huge moral booster and allowed me to gain a bit of confidence back. I was able to graduate to Viagara aftre 2 months on the pump and after 7 months I use nothing, its just like pre surgery.

I can't attribute my success to the pump but I believe it helped. Don't give up,  patience and support are required.

I think vacuum pumps (VED) are a great aid in trying to regain erectile function.  I use bimix, but I also pump regularly to help maintain erectile health.  I am glad you are getting some help from your insurance company to defer the cost of the 'erecaid' pump system.  I think the $500 price they charge is outrageous.  I paid $65 for my pump four years ago.  I bought it online.

The Osbon pump that is covered by insurance is $525+, and because of distributor squabbles, I appealed the cost got mine covered as in-network, and paid only the shipping/handling fee.

Some cover it as out-of network, so perhaps 70% ?

And as a prescription medical expense, it falls into the deductibles for taxes if one itemizes, as well as FSA/HSA plans.

But it does have a long term warranty, so in theory you don't have to replace it.

I'm not really getting good vibes about buying that sort of thing on ebay.

I paid about the same as you.I had already reached my out of pocket money so mine really didn't cost me a thing. Mine is an Encore. It came with a battery and a manual pump. Right now I use mine every day for therapy,which is to prevent scar tissue from forming.
Haven't even started thinking about sex till the incontinence is a little better. Been on 10mg Cialis for a little over a week.

My uro didn't want me to start pump/pills before three months, but Mulhall would have you start at (I don't have the book at hand) just after six weeks (anyone have his book, correct me). My surgeon was not happy with that suggestion, saying healing of the urethra was not "there" yet.

I would say ask your doc a better question. "When?"

I also seen a Rep. today from Osbon. My insurance will not cover anything so it would cost $475. they said. I dont have that kind of $. I'm looking at a Encore online for just over a hundred bucks. I guess anything is better than nothing.

Sometimes a note from the surgeon helps with the insurance. Insurance companies don't like to pay for erection aids but will usually pay for a pump to help with rehabilitation after a covered surgery.

The better (approved durable medical device) pumps are designed to limit the vacuum so they won't hurt the user (won't injure him) but they will definitely hurt him (in the ouch, darn it! sense) especially if the user is inexperienced or in a hurry. There are a number of things that can help with the discomfort but the main thing is to go slow. If it is a manual pump he should pump a couple of strokes and then wait a few seconds before the next couple of strokes. If it's electric he should run the pump for a few seconds then wait for results before turning it back on. The idea is to draw blood into the penis which takes some time. Pumping faster just tries to pull the whole package into the tube and that can definitely hurt. He can also try using more or less lube on the tube. More of the (water-based) lubricant will give a better seal but will also make scrotal skin more likely to be pulled in if he hurries.

If he does everything right and things go perfectly... it may still hurt a little bit. At the risk of being a bit graphic, the tube is longer than he is and when he reaches his goal things may stretch uncomfortably. Circumcised men may tend to run out of skin. Most men learn not to mind this pain. It's how you know you have gotten where you need to be -- the burn of success.

Give him time to "work on it". It's frustrating at first.
