I still can't believe they used staples. Mine was internal and external stitches and surgical super glue.
BM' done now step 3 cath removal!

Glad you are doing good GTO. I have been thinking about you. One problem I am encountering at present is a recurring low grade fever 99.3 or so. Then it goes back to normal and up in the evening. Is this normal?

I was in the hospital for 3 nights after surgery. The heaviest thing they would let me eat was chicken noodle soup and custard. I continued to eat very light until I had a BM on Day 6. To keep the belly full, I drank water and gatorade like it was going out of style. Never felt terribly hungry. This was in addition to taking Colace after I left the hospital. Although I was nervous, the BM was then a piece of cake. I think eating light at first was the way to go.

Evening of surgery I had liquids, but for the rest of the time it was regular food.

Was on docusate calcium (stool softener) all along from previous colo-rectal issues, so had the "Big Moment" before I left the hospital.
