psa test thursday

had my third post rt psa about a month ago and it was again <0.1. this was done at uros office. i'm scheduled to meet with rad. onc. thursday for psa and to answer the questions about bowel habits etc.

initially, after rt the rad. onc. said there is no need for psa test any sooner than every six months. uro at first said every three months for "quite a while" but last month said  everything is going well that six month would be fine.

my question is should it not be fine refuse the psa test thursday and get it done at only one place every six months. any input is welcomed.

At some point most people go to 6mo. schedule if there is no appartent need to monitor it so closely as every three mo. If the rad. onc. said six, then I would do that. I am guessing you had radiation as the primary treatment and have not had surgery. If that is the case then yourt case seems more straight forward than someone who has undergone SRT. I would take this as good news and start the 6 mo. schedule.

actually i did have rp in 2009 and first psa follwing was 0.02. second post-op psa was 0.05 and rt ensued immediately. uro initially was calling for three month tests for a lot longer than it has been, but both now agree every six months is fine. i suppose i should take it as good and just enjoy the summer.
