I was just discussing the post-sling surgery period with Arch and remembered I had written this thread that sums it up nicely.
It also reminded me of some funny guys.
It has been almost 2 years since the sling so I figure it's time for an update.
I still pee in the red Solo cup. Why?
1) I don't have to aim.
2) I never splash.
3) I can multitask during the 2 minutes.
4) The cup catches the final drops that come out during the WWPP (Wiggle Waggle Perineum Push) period of the post pee process.
The Mettler balance is still on the kitchen counter. While it does get used daily, it is a rare day that finds urea above the measuring pan.
I figure I am leaking about
5 ml per day. In winter that is sub-observable, but in summer it is definitely noticeable and a bit uncomfortable. Therefore, I no longer consider myself LFPF. If I am home I will stick a folded handkerchief into my briefs. That is usually enough. If I am going out, I will cut half a pad and put that in my briefs. Pads have an impervious shield which eliminates the chance of anything wicking through.
I can work outdoors and be as physical as I like. If my bladder is full (more than about
400 ml) I will leak if I strain myself lifting or running. I just make sure to empty first.
I am no longer controlled by my pee production. I am master of my domain.
Stay dry.
