Ziggy. great comments, and don't disagree with anythiing you've just said at all. The only thing I would point out is that the majority of the posts here are man to man, and if a wife or girlfriend wants to joiin in, then they'll just have to deal with whatever's being discussed or ignore it. However, this was a case of replyiing directly to a wife who had only posted in the recent past. It wasn't one of the man-to-man type discussions. I, too, find it much easier to talk directly to the person affected by PCa...the man....but when we are, in fact, talking directly to a wife, girlfriend, or daughter, I think it's the manly thing to do to couch the discussion in terms that are respectful of the gender differences (that's bureaucrat-ese for "treat a lady like a lady until she gives us permission to do otherwise."
I think we do that 99.9 percent of the time. Maybe that's why this particular instance caught my attention, and again I don't mean to say anything against Mr. G. I'm absolutely certain he would not intentionally offend anyone.
Who can disagree with Peter's comment, as quoted or paraphrased earlier, "our particular situation, consisting of older men and dealing with biological and sexual issues required intimate and otherwise very personal discussion and would be allowed." I just don't think that conveys license to confront a woman poster with a graphic comment like the one earlier in the thread.
