Vons, Safeway, and Tom Thumb ~ Please Re-read

This is prostate cancer awareness month for the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). When you shop at the stores in the title of this thread, and a couple more, you will have the option to donate to the PCF for prostate cancer research.

It's a good cause and a good group. I take this into consideration when I shop for groceries as I have a Vons around the corner.

A very big thank you from me goes to all involved in this effort. Especially the Safeway Foundation. It's a genuine effort that they do for breast cancer and many other causes. My understanding is that they match every dollar donated by their customers. They have raised $69 million in the last year by asking customers if they would like to donate to a particular cause.

Today I frequently get asked for donations at various places of business. I know some that get irritated by these "solicitations" and I understand. How many times do we walk up to the girl scout cookie table outside the market and try to avoid the solicitation from that girls? Personally, I don't mind being asked and when I can I contribute, I do. I assure you all that not contributing to the girl scout cookie effort is truly one of the hardest things I'll ever have to do.
