Dreams after prostate Cancer Treatment

Change of direction on the topic of prostate cancer, but following prostate surgery and the hormone treatment and radiation,  well, my dreams about sex have really changed.  I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar?  Has PC affected your dreams?  I have not seen this discussed anywhere before.

Well, normally men have erections during REM (dreaming) sleep. Having ED might affect your dreams about sex somewhat.

I almost never dream.

I do miss those nocturnal erections and waking up with some wood. smhair

Until I read this thread I hadn't realized that I no longer have any sex dreams so I guess I can thank the robot for taking one more thing from me. sad

I have always had an active dream life, since childhood. I dream anytime I am asleep, you know, in full colour, with sound, and can usually remember enough to keep a dream log full of details. Along with that I have been plagued with chronic nightmares. Been to doctors about that, seems to be related to some childhood PTSD events from childhood that I dont wish to pursue.

Certain meds I take tend to make the nightmares worse, and others, help diminish them. Some doctors have told me that dreams/nightmares can be the mind's way of relieving stress.

After the most serious of my surgeries, I have always gone through a period of very violent dreams in the recovery time. Might have something to do with the trauma to the body, just guessing.

Despite having no ED, its rare for me to have any kind of sexualy minded dream. Shucks, at least that would be fun.

I am very leery about venturing into this topic. some sexual content in dreams is not unusual. Before PC treatment those dreams would involve normal activity. After treatment, I would have terribly distorted dreams- equipment that didn't work, looked distorted, embrassing, grotesque even. I have never had sexual dreams frequently but the content of those dreams before and after treatment has really changed. But so as life.

Well, Trew, our surgeries are major and complex, and puts the body into a lot stress, and the mind as well. Despite my worse nightmares, I keep it in balance by reminding myself, it is only a dream. I find some comfort in that.

I have noticed that the sex dreams pretty much disappeared right after my RRP. I have had a couple recently and woke with a little of a Nocternal erection. SO.... I have decided to reverse engineer this...if your dreams turn to sex due to the naturally occurring nocternal erections.....then if you can induce more dreams about sex then you should have more nocternal erections...I have done everything I can to induce dreams of sex prior to going to bed.....no luck yet....LOL

Dreams Yes,,,, mine have been overly active dreams regarding sex.... In my dreams i have an erection, and i am woderfully surprised by that, i feel elated.... and then i wake up to reality...... bummer....

wow...i thought all dreams were about sex or at least included sex...i guess mine are just like going to the movies, only i always get the starring role...and no, i'm not a huge stud or anything...but sex as a dream topic does always come up. interestingly, it didn't change for me after surgery, but it was so strange to me to wake up without a hard on post-surgery. i felt cheated to be sure. over time, it has improved. if i take levitra regularly ever other day, i wake up with a hard on. it doesn't last as long as it used to, but it's nice to have that feeling back again even if it's not all it was. all I have to say is thank god for ED drugs.

I has a sexual dream last. But i think it's more an SE of celexa withdrawal.
