Last evening I'm doing this job for a customer and for awhile it wasn't going as smooth as planned, I started to get a little frustated then stopped and thought. I really miss this.

sound like you are having a downer time - post surgery can be a bumpy roller coaster - with random thoughts popping up - it can be frustrating getting used to the "new you" and reflecting on when things were better - cancer was just a word you saw in the newspaper or used by a fundraiser on the telephone.... it can get better..... and this is when you can use Sonny's line - "every day is a bonus" - and from Joni Mitchell's song - "you don't know what you've got 'til its gone.." -today is paradise - enjoy it - and share it with the one's you love...

Metalman,

In a couple of weeks this will all be behind you and you will be on the road to a full recovery. In a month or so you will be feeling as good or better than now as well.  Today is the 3 month anniversary wof my date with the robot and people ask me all the time how I am feeling. I tell them I feel so much better than before surgery and it is the whole truth. I am dry and for now cancer free and the Ed is getting better but physically I really feel great.  I really enjoy the fact that I can now pee with out hesitation like a teenager again, one of the best side effects of RALP. The other great side effect is that it has brought my wife and I so much closer both spiritually and romantically. Once the ED is fixed I then will say I am doing much better without a prostate to worry about.

Report back to me when you are on the other side, my PC  brother and then plan on making one of our GFMPH gatherings next year.

I was just saying to my wife yesterday that it's too bad I can't switch to the average complaints of a typical 50-something guy that would perhaps relate to a lousy commute to work or a crummy boss rather than no job or prostate cancer.

However, I was on the treadmill yesterday where I watch pre-recorded investment shows over the computer. When it was over I switched to TV mode and Oprah was on. The subject was a little boy named Mattie Stepanek who maintained a tremendously positive attitude despite dealing with debilitating muscular dystrophy. He died at 14 but maintained this attitude right up to the end. Now given my nature, I will probably continue to complain but this little guy is an inspiration for me to try to appreciate what I do have.

As I recover at home I too miss work. Not being one to sit on my ass very long I am getting rather squirrely. Being an electrician, I do dread the fact that I will probably not be near continence when I return to work. "Lift," PISH, "pull" PISH.
I suspect I better bring changes of clothes to work with me. If I had the choice, I would stay home until I had better control. It's unfortunate but these days the working man needs to protect his job more than ever. The number one rule is being at work.
Getting back to my normal lifestyle, no matter how mundane it is, is my goal right now.
