TAK-700 {PSA}

My onco has mentioned referrence to 'sub low' potassium levels being even to the point of deadly, but did not referrence what kind of low level that could become. Do you have info on the significance of certain levels and have the docs discussed why this is monitored closely? This is one area I have not looked into (yet) and have not been concerned with in the past. Nice looking chart of info that you sumitted. White cell count lowish and is that normal with TAK-700? If you can elaborate on anything it probably would help, since you are monitoring this along with your docs.

Thanks for reply, that is a list of items to take, I see potassium is added so perhaps that keeps it up into the normal ranges, or more so. Best to your on going results.

living 1963                                   TAK-700   TAK-700 & Abby drug: 'adrenal androgen synthesis inhibitor', supposed to have less side effects than Keto drug, less need for steroid replacement therapy. Note this drug is also believed to work by not allowing the tumor itself to make male hormones (which at some juncture the cancer can do just that...produce its own), which is why this drug is also known as 'De novo androgen synthesis inhibitor. This drug can cause blood pressure increase (hypertension), low potassium levels and lower-limb swelling (edema), docs can prescribe other drugs to reduce side effects such as this. I have been on this drug almost a yeas The two underlined side effect are for real. I live with both but under control.

TAK-700 is not for metastaszied prostate cancer.For no tomers only

It is still in test trials. I am in a 2nd stage trial, but it is now in the last stages of 3rd stages.

Look up ABIRATERONE. This is new drug just got Gov ok.in spring.

It is for prostate cancer that has metastaszied.

Has some good results so far.

49packard; and Henry3rd  I was on tak 700 for 17 months , it is used for metastazied cancer I was stage  4,   lungs,bone,liver  ect; it stop it from spreading and drop the psa down . I just talk to the rep of ZYTIGA the said that the tak 700 and Zytiga work in the same way but with a different chem make up . alf203

49packard; No I not on tak 700 anymore it finaly gave up and spread to three new places so they put me kemo now for 4 months hopefuly it will last alf203
