The GP's lab is one that I have used since I got my first PSA test, and have continued to use it. According to them, they have not changed labs during the last 4 years, so theirs should be the most reliable. The other, the Uro's, all their results up to the .12 one was the same outsourced walk-in lab, the .12 was the first done using the Uro's in office lab services, so I tend to discount their results, as not reliable. If the 2 lab results are compared up until the URO switched to their own lab, they have been pretty matched. That's why I am not getting excited about
the .08 from yesterday. As I said, we should see more accurate results in Feb, one way or the other. If the Uro's lab continues to be unreliable, then I will insist on switching back to the previously used outside lab. I still do like getting 2 seperate test strings to keep watch. I am way past psa anxiety now, as it seems inevitable that I will be having SRT, so it's a matter of tracking it as closely as possible to know when that time is and to get a feel for how fast it changes.
Casey, I am continuing to work on exercise, weight, healthy eating choices and even a few 'alternative supplements', been doing that for 10 months now. IF the next tests both come back as lowered, then I will start being a vocal advocate of those same 'alternative supplements',,,
in the meantime, I am satisfied with the weight loss, and increased stamina and healthy feeling I am getting from the all the above.
