i've never heard of letting it warm up a bit before injecting. Although I suppose a small amount (like 10u i use) will warm up pretty quick in the syringe. Larger amounts not so quick. I just remembered I also store the syringes in the fridge -- so no chance for much warmup there. But never really any sensation from the injection of the Trimix anyways. It goes in .. it goes up ...

Well, nothing happening tonight. maybe tomorrow.

My dear wife is afraid I am going to hurt myself either with the needle or from an over reaction to the med.

Something else to work through.

and I do find the injector to be a little intimidating. Life has gotten so complicated now.....

Sorry about the late reply. Yes, I see you are at the same stage out from surgery (3.5 years) and I am experiencing real hope of recovering the nerve and vascular set to one day do erections with a bit of cialis. The trimix is a bit "razor edge" with dosage/technique/site of injection and various factors. You need to adopt a consistency of methodology for what works best. I am only about 20 shots into my "rehab" and recently used the priming technique and found I was getting quite aroused physically. When I withdrew the needle there was a squirt of blood which I had never experienced which I took to be a significant degree of pressure in the corpus cavenosa (I think that's the term for the spongy vessel we are aiming our shots at). The squirt went half way across the bathroom floor and gave me quite a fright but stopped immediately. The erection was otherwise excellent and lasted the 1.5 hours which I prefer.

In direct answer to your question on the 9th November yes I believe that trimix for some people with ED will "jumpstart" their erections. Interestingly my aversion to needles has largely disappeared but I have no interest in the vacuum pump devices. My preconceived notions are they are even more a spontaneity killer, and they are said to produce a hinged erection which feels unnatural. The trimix injection once you get it tuned is like a real erection which you can optimise for how long you want it. The disclaimer to this would be that some guys seem to find the amount required to get the full wood also results in excessive duration including sometimes priapism.

Hope this is helpful and I hope my faith is not misplaced in trimix. I have been so disillusioned with "meds" and what my uro told me pre-surgery about my "95%" prospects.

Injected .45 this morning. Just did not work for me. I am already on the strong dose of trimix. next time I will try .55 but I am getting very discouraged with this.

Hi Trew,

Are you certain your process is correct ?

Before upping by .10 ( which is a giant increase in medication) try to go over the process you are following. Most people I have heard that use Trimix use in the .20-.25 range of dosage, some even less

It is possible , very possible you are missing the chambers and injecting into the Urethra. You may just be inserting the needle to far. The auto injector is great for being able to limit exactly how far in the needle goes

Are you constricting at the base ? If you are not using an auto injector then you have to use a ring of some sort as it would be impossible to inject using the syringe alone with one hand

Are you massaging the medication so it gets to the other side chamber before releasing constriction ?

Another suggestion, perfect your procedure when you are alone with no expectation of making love.

I have gone over the material in the link again.  first, I used an entire 1.0 on the first level of Trimix and had a totally inadaquate response.  the doc moved me up to the Trimix dosage I am now on. 

After surgery/hormone therapy/radiation my penis is shorter and thinner.  I am wondering if the 1/2 needle is too long?  Or if I should try coming in more directly from the side with little or no angle in the injection.  I do believe I am having difficulty hitting the sweet spot.  If I don't get this worked out soon I think I am done this this part of my life.  If was nice while it lasted, but I am losing interest in the process.

What gauge needle are you using? If you are not already using it, you should try a 31 gauge insulin needle. Also, have you tried the "plump method" using a pump? That could get you some size before you inject so you could better find the sweet spot. You might also start using the pump twice a day for general rehab.

For what it is worth, I think you should not give up on this part of your life.

I agree with Southern Comfort. After the despair of ED 3 years past surgery I reluctantly broke down my resistance to the needle. After unsatisfactory 5 shots of bimix I went to small shots of trimix. By shot 5 of trimix (10 shots in total) I had homed in on the right amount. That amount has gone down from 1.5 - 1.0 over the next 10 shots and I have plenty of confidence in this therapy.

Other benefits have included a general improvement in the "feel" of the anatomical part in question, like toning up in a gym, and really positive hints of a return to spontaneous erections including waking up with some engorgement. Urologists in general need to push patients towards a greater commitment to rehab, assuming the patient wants to live a full life.

Trew, we all have expectations when we enter this part of a new journey and we often aren't prepared for the less positive outcomes but I believe that injection therapy is probably the most important part of the recovery for most surgical survivors. The "meds" for many of us have little or no effect but may after injections come into play, that stage I am hoping for which would be more acceptable than a jab in the old fella every few days. A few ideas to consider:

1) Although the suggested method is to stick in the needle in one quick motion I have never done it that way. I use a slow (some might say excruciatingly slow) method of slowly pressing it in (with little slight jabs) so I can feel it when it pierces the Cavernosa sheath. And then I carefully check to make sure there is almost no resistance to the plunger going down (if there is you are not in the right place). I use the 31g also which does seem wicked fragile so that is another reason why I go slow.

2) Assuming you do not undiagnosed Venous Leak issues ( any erection issues BEFORE surgery? .. keeping things up? .. deflating down too quick etc?) then the other Erection Killer is simply High Blood Pressure. The issue here is if you have high pressure you will have low flow. And then if the Trimix locally opens up the Canvernosa area arteries then the low flow coming in (from other arteries that are still rather restricted) will mean not enough bloodflow to cause a good erection (and the good flow is needed for forcing those all-important return veins in the penis to get squeezed closed). It is widely known that HBP/Heart disease first indicator can be ED symptoms -- Lil Willy is very sensitive to that. Do you have a wrist BP monitor you can use? Use it just before and even after you inject since your BP may rise a lot even tho it may be ok when checked at a Doctors checkup. Also some people have HBP/(and high pulse rate too) when they stand up so you may even have to lie down completely (and on your right side so heart is on top half). Many guys Trimix erections go down when they stand up but stay around a LONG time if in bed/lying on side.

3) One other issue that can be aggravated by all the ABOVE issues is Adrenaline production due to stress. If you are getting hyper about needles and erections and ED (Oh My!) then Adrenaline can be the Great Erection Killer. (That is where Confidence and Experience used to come in to play in our young virgin days -- you didn't have any of either so results could be disastrous until you finally got both and you calmed down during the act -- heh).

So .. something more to think about .. but not to get hyper!

Hi guys, I just got and used my first dose of Caverject last week. I asked my urologist for Trimix but he said they never had complaints of pain with straight Caverject. The first time was nerve racking but all went well with the injection, way better than anticipated. However I only used 15cc's and did not get to 100%. Had some pain, the same pain I get when I use the pump after not using it for a while. I am going to try the pump before injection tonight with 20cc's and see what happens.
