Going to give Viagra a try.

What is the best dosage to start with for someone on HT's where the big guy has been resting for a few months?

I have 100 mg tabs. My Doc suggested to get in half, I think I read someplace it is best to start with 100 mg.

Tomorrow is lady wife birthday - so would be a nice birthday present :)

50 MG did nothing for me so I went for 100 MG and did see some action but now I am moving towards trying out trimix, will be seeing my Uro about that on Thursday.

There can be side effects, so it's probably better to see how you tolerate 50 mg before trying 100 mg. Probably better to give it a dry run and not have too much on the line the first time.

Good luck. Go for it. But, not to be a wet blanket, Viagra and Cialis depend on the presence of testosterone. I think Dr. Myers calls them expensive placebos if one is on HT. My rad onc agrees. Since you did not have surgery you might have more success.

My Dr said to start with 50mg viagra at the 5th-8th week depending on my comfort level. I've taken 50mg on an empty stomach and had pre-surgery wood within an hour to 90 min. I've taken it with food in my belly and gotten merely a chubby. Someone suggested chewing it up with a glass of water. Haven't tried that, but the 50mg worked great but I had had zero to eat. It was an afternoon delight session with the wife. I lasted one minute. Felt like a teenager. :-)

Hard to know what to tell you without knowing your history. The docs at Sloan Kettering are big proponents of 25mg of viagra every day, and 50 - 100mg on days your going to attempt "more".

I'm 2+ years post op and still take 25 mg every day. I get my pills overseas so the cost is a non issue and my doc says if I have an unlimited supply I can continue for another year if I like.

My issues are minimal now, but life is easier with the pill and a 50mg does the trick on the nights I need to get the job done.

trimix - My Urologist said to try the Viagra first

Postop - I'll try 50 tonight without saying anything, if that works goodie. If not than will go to 100 tomorrow.

Southern Comfort - its not getting there on its own, I'll give the Viagra a shot and hope for the best.

Mike - if this works at all I'll be asking where you get yours.

Yes, you need to try the drugs first and see if they help you out, I got samples of all 3 and only the Viagra helped out a bit, but not much :-(  Trimix is next. Hope it goes well for you.

My URO started me out on 5mg daily Cialis and then 100mg of Viagra and I get next to nothing so Trimix is the only thing that works for me, so far. Before surgery I used 25mg of Viagra for mild ED the last 3 years and got good strong lasting erections and minimal side effects. With the 100mg dose I noticed the "Blue Vision" SE much  more.  Good luck.
