      If your not one of the lucky ones and you had to work on regaining the battle of contenence. Can you remember what was the turning point. Ive been worrying alot about the whole bathroom situation when i go back to work after X-mas. Ive been speed walking twice a day around the park,doing more set of kegels' and working alot more around the house, and its starting to pay off. Its only been a couple of day,but ive notice that im able to hold my pee long enough for at less a cup full when i go potty now. Totally good news.Only problem is....With all the walking and working out ......My pads have alittle tinged blood, but im willing to trade a little tinged blood in for being dry.Its been six week since the robot.Im starting to feel positive that this could be my turning point.If you been down this road before.Is this the way it happens.All of the sudden your drying up with lots of contol.Some of you guys thats dry shortly after cath removed,do you still have to wear pads?I was just wondering if we can ever feel total confidence without pads anymore.

I'd say that if you are still bleeding you should consult your uro. You might be overdoing it. There will be some scab tissue that breaks away from the urethra sutures, and a little blood from that, but, at least in my case, it was sporadic, not constant.

Call first. No value in not knowing what is going on.

Of course, everyone is different, but progress can be uneven. All of sudden you can get a quick burst of progress followed by a plateau and then even more progress. That was how it worked for me. It sounds like you may follow that pattern. I was dry at 2 months and quit wearing pads, even to work. But, I still had to pay attention during any "risky" moves. By 6 months I had quit paying attention to it. I had some urgency/frequency issues during radiation but that cleared up quickly. Today (one year after surgery), I am drier than before surgery if I count getting rid of the post-void dribble. Frankly, I don't even do kegels anymore. Hang in there! Progress will come.

I had my surgery in August and am now starting to turn the corner on continence. As said above there is progress and pateaus. I am not ready to go pad free during my work shift (electrician) because my day is full of risky moves.
I was absolutely freaking out about the incontinence issue and returning to work was concerning. It took some time but I feel better about it now. Peeing blood? I called my doc when I did and he said that was normal. Don't take my word though. Call your doc.

I think 142 is correct. Don't try too hard. It will happen.

If you are bleeding, I would suggest you back off a little.

Best progress if you rest up a lot. My experience, tried holidaying overseas for 10 days but the stress of pads and toilets and the foggy feeling was too much less than a month from surgery. Got home, went to bed with some good movies, slept through most of them, and urinary control quickly came. Dry at 10 weeks. Go easy, you will reach a turning point when it comes right quickly I think.

I can't say that I had a real black and white turning point but rather just subtle improvement in small steps. Just a gradual and not everyday decline in the daily number of times I had leaks that I couldn't control that began about 3 weeks after the catheter came out. One less leak today than the day before wasn't a gigantic improvement but eventually I could see a trend where overall better control was happening. Now that I'm 2 years post surgery, I still rarely come across a very minor stress continence issue. I think that is because I now so rarely think of the fact that surgery rearranged the bladder control process. After noticing a few drips, I usually think, "yep, I should have realized that I should have squeezed before making that move." Beyond a little slip-up on rare occasions, things are going very well. It just takes time to adjust to the new ways the plumbing works.

I'm a slow healer (8 months out and 95% dry), but here's my experience.  Over time, as I slowly improved, I would occasionally get this weird feeling that I felt "normal".  No warm leaks, no burning sensation of needing to TT; just normal.  And it felt odd, but good.  It started out lasting an hour or so, gradually lengthening in time.  Now it may last most of a day (unless I twist or stretch, and hence leak).  Here's hoping that you will get this odd feeling of being normal - and that mine will soon last 24 hours.

        Thanks to all that posted back for your good advice as i continue to heal. When i posted this thread I was feeling really good about having a couple of days of not soaking my pads. Its been a few days now and things are still inproving but no where near regaining control.I still believe Im on the right track with the walking and being active. I agree that i  need to take it one day at a time and let the healing process take its coarse.
