Hello All:

I have been experimenting with the injections and find they work well when standing but not so well when lying down.  That could pose a problem. I injected .25 cc's last time and same results. Any help would be appreciated.

In my very limited experience with trimix so far, I stand for about 10 minutes to get things started and then I have been generally ok to lie down. There are some interesting things that can done in those 10 minutes. devil Also, I usually start on top which maybe helps the blood flow as well versus being on my back.

I have been using Tri-Mix for over a year now and find the same problem as you. I discussed it with my urologist and he decribed it as "venous leakage".
In a normal erection the increased blood in the penis closes off the veins, keeping the blood in the penis and giving a good erection.
If the veins don't close well the blood can escape back to the general circulation and the erection subsides.
I use a simple erection ring - fitted just before my injection - I find it helps a lot when I lie down but is not perfect.

I also get stronger erections when standing. My wife and I have a tendency to rush things out of fear of losing the erection. This was definitely a problem pre-surgery (due to anxiety) and post surgery when I was only using Viagra. Now that I’m using Trimix I am trying to retrain my thinking to wait, because the erection (of 6+) now lasts 30 to 50 minutes. I find it helps to stand a while after the injection, and get things going, before my wife even comes in the room.

But perhaps you just need to up your dose. Talk to your doctor about this. It took me about 2 months to find the right dose for me. I am under strict instructions to not increase the dose without first talking to him; and we always made small steps.

interesting discussion, don't think i have heard anyone here before describe the standing vs. lying down with the injections. good luck, skate, as you continue to figure out the best ways for yourself.

It’s actually pretty common for me to have this happen: my wife and I are “done” and after lying down for a while, I’ll start going “soft”, but then when I sit up or stand … well, often the wood comes back.

Do any of you have HBP? Borderline or other? HBP does not mean high blood FLOW -- just the opposite it means restricted flow. And penile restricted flow is where the visible adverse results occur. But while standing it could be your heart is way above your hard, so in that position you are getting enough flow, but while laying down not so much flow.

One time i did try measuring blood pressure of the erect penis using a wrist cuff BPMonitor. (Standing and laying down). As expected blood pressure was less when horizontal, but that is not the really same effect as having High Blood Pressure (always) as a chronic symptom (which is due to restricted arterial flow etc).

Well, I am now up to .5 cc of trimix, been injecting every other day and things are getting better. I have tried some new things that have been suggested by the experienced group and they are helping out also. I pump up with a VED, inject and then leave it for a while before I take the ring off. I am also now standing up for a bit before I lay down. All this and some patience seems to be paying off.

Boy, I am really glad now that I did not inject 1.0 cc on my first try like my Uro wanted me to do !!! Thanks for all the help on this forum I think it kept me from a trip to the ER

Yes, I have experienced better response if I stay standing until I am full.

A strange reversal happened last week when I was getting scared with a 3+ hour erection which wouldn't go down. It stayed very hard but as soon as I got up and walked around it dipped to below horizontal and about 85%, went back to lie down and it immediately went scary hard. Repeated a few times before taking the sudomyl tabs and things quietly retreated. A strange effect I have not had before.

good observation - yes , I have been on medication for High Blood Pressure for about ten years. Maybe this is why my erection is never more than about 80% even after a TriMix injection ( 25 units out of 30 on my syringe ) - but even that is enough for VERY successful activity !!

JStars – That’s an interesting thought.  To answer your question, I have never been diagnosed with HBP, although I think is has been creeping up. I’ll see what my PCP thinks when I go for my annual check up.

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions.  All have been very helpful. Next I will inject 30 units or .3 cc's. My uro prescribed that I could jump in 5 units increments unitil a maximum of 30 (.3 cc's).  I have an appointment to see him in early February. Then we will assess how I have progressed.

Just the opposite for me, LBP 100/70. I too have the venous leak issue but only slightly and if it gets less than usable just standing or one leg off the bed does the trick. smilewinkgrin
