Patriots vs. Broncos

My 42 love affair with the Patriots was further vindicated tonight by an outstanding game in every way. Now all we have to do
is either knock off the Ravens or Houston, and its Superbowl time.

well the game started at 2am here and I only lasted until 2.05.

Woke up to read the obvious, Brady is a still an awesome qb and Tebow blows. Denver will never win with him at the qb position.

Can't believe the Niners went toe to toe with the Saints and came out on top. Still not a believer in the Niners but maybe I'm wrong.

I think the Ravens will give NE trouble. They're just really nasty and have a great running game.

And I'm still hoping in a Giant miracle. It's happened before.

But Orton got picked up by KC and immediately won 2-3 games with that awful team including a win against the unbeaten Packers. I think what both Orton and Tebow do is irrelevant to the fortunes of their teams. Denver was winning those close/lucky games with D and 50+ yard game winning field goals. I really don't think he'll ever come even close to having Elway's arm.

Us Pat fans aren't worried about the Raven's running game. The running game was suppose to be the highlight of the Denver game last night, and a few weeks ago when we obliterated Denver before. And, the next game is still in Foxboro MA, home of the Patriots, we are a hard team to beat at home, it's a rare thing. Houston might fool the Ravens. Like yesterday, the Saints were heavily favoured to win, as they say, on any given Sunday.

Tud, I see and respect your point, but if you think those remarks were harsh, don't go the Pat's (or any other teams) Facebook page, all we do is trash out the oponents to the ninth degree, its a great source of entertainment for me, lol.

And let's be honest, Tebow is not the only player of faith, there are lots of Christian players in all the sports, I blame the media for getting that out of hand and trying to milk it for the ratings. The previous Denver-Pat's game a few weeks ago, was one of the most "watched" games of the season, because the media (not Tebow or the Pat's) have over-hyped the game for a week.

Other players of faith drop and do a quick prayer or nod of the head after a touchdown, and seen many Catholic players do the "signing of the cross". It's the media, and all they did was cause the source of harm to this young player.

He has some potential as a young QB, but even though I am not a Denver fan regardless of their QB, I would be surpirised if he gets the job full time. Now if you want to watch a young sharp guy, you got to admire Cam Newton of the local team here, the Carolina Panthers. Give that lad another season or two, and you are going to have another Manning, Rodgers, or Brady on the field.

I agree with David in that the media has done a disservice to Tebow. I'm not a fan of Tebow (bias to my Packers and Rodgers) as I do not think he is a high caliber QB, but he certainly showed some leadership late in the season. As an example of this crazy media, a column on USA Today was entitled, If Tim Tebow loses, does God too? I think that says it all about the media.

David - hopefully a Pat - Packer superbowl rematch. I guess we'll know the possibility of that in the next several hours.

bd - that would be the matchup of my choice, i can't see the niner's taking out greenbay next week, assuming the packers win today. it would be a great matchup, not one of those boring superbowls of recent years.

dj - you are right on your remarks too. on the pat's facebook page, we mostly enjoy trashing the jets and their fat mouthy coach, rex ryan, they are an easy team to hate, lol. their fans even boo their own players and throw trash down on the field at them, that should tell you something.

as for today, it would be a good upset if houston won, as a pat's fan, i would prefer that, and in the giants/green bay game, trust me, will be rooting for greenbay, i think the odds are well on the packers side.

i love my nfl football season, but have never bet a dime in my life on a game. i was glad today, bought a $1 scratch ticket today, and won $50, that was lucky in my world, lol.

Eli, on the other hand, is now an elite qb. Watching this live all by myself close to midnight and at least we're not intimidated by Green Bay. We're looking good so far.

He wasn't too bad when we beat you in the SB :) Can't believe the refs didn't give us that fumble. Even Buck and Aikman, two Giant haters can't believe it.

Agreed Eli isn't Brady or Rodgers. Those two and Brees are in their own league, but Eli, unlike most QBs, is right there behind them.

Greenbay is out. The Packers and the Bears aren't playing, the season's over.

It's true that San Francisco is a great city (the most beautiful in the U.S. outside Seattle ), and Boston, well, it has the big dig baked beans, and that restaurant where they throw rolls at you. . . but east vs west coast leaves out the "flyover" cities like Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, Kansas City, Houston, the heartland, you know, America.
