The weekend was spent sending emails. I wrote a termination letter to my docter. I wrote the ceo of kaiser. I wrote a highly respected doctor in nevada and i wrote katu channel 2 in portland oregon. Today I will call the dendreon hotline and talk to my contact there about patient assistance. I have no idra how we will afford the travel costs and doctor fees to see the nevada doctor. In the interim I see my Kaiser quack tomorrow and I may go on cassodex to get a psa drop for awhile as we get our ducks in a row.

I'm glad you are also looking at MDV3100 (I keep forgetting that it hasn't been approved yet) and doing Casodex. So, it's not really provenge or nothing, and that's good.

You know, I'm wondering if you couldn;t write to the networks like ABC, CBS, NBC. One never know, but maybe a 60 Minutes or 20/20 or Dateline is planning a special on folks caught in the medical/HMO jungle?

Kaiser just called me. The gal I talked to said I have the full attention of the kaiser corporate arm. Actually she said they were twitching like they hhad been hit with a tazer.(i picture the scene on meet the fockers) lol She started an appeal of the denial of my appeal. I said fine but I wont be letting the grass grow under my feet in the mean time. Dendreon was helpful. We will have to pay doctors visits and infusion costs out of pocket and proba ly transportation but maybe not. I am hoping my extended family can raise some sheckels with a fund raiser. We are staying positive. Todd

yes - both amazon or paypal will work - sorry I posted business account link - but there is a way on amazon to collect personal money - just like paypal using email system. Amazon does not charge 2.9% credit card transaction fee from the recipient for personal payments. But yes Paypal would work if you prefer that one and find it easier.

Remember that I am only 52 and was selected last year as a participant in a small group study of 40 of us who recently got diagnosed and were going to have a RRP. I am not sure the ages of the other 39, but it was my understanding that Dendreon's experience was really limited to men with advanced metastatic PCa, and they have very limited experience with younger men like your self. I would push them hard on the insurer that the evidence just isn't there for young men, because they haven't focused on that group, but are now starting to. There is no reason why I shouldn't be testing detectable since May of 2011. The wild card, Provenge has to be the reason. I do not know when the study concludes and they report the findings of my group, but it will be interesting to read and learn what they have found out
