I for one and probably the only one, have given up on meat. This I started the first of this year after considerable thought. The whole method of raising livestock and all the crap that is fed and injected into the animal is frightening.
Don't misunderstand, I love a good burger or steak. As an avid gym rat I believed that meat was needed for strength. Wrong! My endurance and strength is much improved since my diet changed.
If any of you have time, rent the movie "Forks over Knives." This movie changed me and many of my friends dietary habits overnight.
A dietician visited our Wellness Center and pretty much said the same thing. Give up the meats, have some fish, and eat your veggies. Eat to live and not live to eat. Time will tell.
