Brachytherapy Tomorrow

You will do fine.   I had HDR brachytherapy and the catheter was removed before I went home from the treatment center.

I just did some looking at the guanabanana.   That is the spanish for sorsop.   I used to live in Malaysia and there it is referred to as a strain of the durian which is in the jackfruit family.   We ate theswe fruits regularly when they were in season.   As to curative for cancer, that is a very strong claim and one website offered a lot of claims including the one you sited.   To me that doesn't mean anything because you have to look at the studies.   Besides, chemotherapy is not a primary treatment for prostate cancer.   So is the claim even relevant to PCa?   The one study I did see stated that it may reduce the EGFR (a growth factor) in breast cancer.   My wife has had two bouts with breast cancer and no one has brought this up.   One company in the UK called Triamazon is under indictment for the way the company has marketd their solution.

Check it out, read the studies and talk to your doctors about it.  I have not heard anyone on this board bring this up and many of us are looking for everything we can to fight our disease.   So I look forward to your information and good luck with the procedure.

Durian is some god awful stuff. In Singapore it is unlawful to serve it to Westerners because of it's vile taste. It took be over a day to get the taste out of my mouth. I don't know if it works in stopping PC, but I would rather have PC than eat Jurian.

You had the stuff they give to tourists.....they keep the best stuff for themselves. My landlord had a farm that developed several Durian hybrids. There are over 100 in all. One in particular is a delicacy and is called D24 and is very rare. Once I took several of my
local VPs out for lunch after some great corporate results to a restaurant of their choice with the condition being they would take me for the best Durian, also my treat. We ended up in a classic backwater area south of Ipoh and had a D24. I paid $100 USD for one Durian. It had next to no odor and tasted like a pina colada.....very good. After that my landlord also started treating us with the good stuff and that cemented my local culturization.

Having lived some 15 years in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and China (with extensive travel in all the ASEAN countries) I have tasted just about everything. Believe me Durian is not to wierd by comparisson. And I would rather have it than my Eligard!!!

Back to Buzz....good luck on the brachytherapy. Be careful sitting on hard chairs for a few days and don't be too alarmed if the privates turn a very deep and dark shade of blue for a week. It will look bad but will not hurt.

I had my cath removed Monday morning, it was a long weekend. But I made it, was pretty much laid up all weekend with the bag. I had to drive about 45 minutes from the house Monday to have it removed. Pissing blood the first time and a burning sensation every other time. Rectum hurts when having bowel movements. But overall I guess things are well, slight pain in the back maybe from laying down so much over the weekend. I do not remember too much from the brachy, I think I had 51 seeds inserted. I know that sounds low; but I will know for sure when I see my urologist again for the follow-up PSA. But after the surgery he stated all look good.
