My 9 month PSA test is today

I have my 9 month PSA test today and I did not sleep well last night. Does this PSA anxiety every get any better?  I have another 1 1/2 years of 3 month testing.

Anxiety? - nope can't promise it will get better any time soon but wishing you good numbers Terry

I have to schedule my own 9-month post-op PSA test this week.  I meet with my Uro on April 10th.

Yes, the anxiety is there for me as well, but it is what it is.  Time spent worrying about it is time wasted.  Whatever the results, they will be dealt with as needed, right?

Best wishes on that number, Terry. yes, it can get better, its all how you treat it in your mind. i will teach you my secret of no-psa anxiety lol, if you wish.

Thanks Bob, Pond, David and Rider.  Rider you had your RALP the day after mine and I hope your number stay where they have been so far.  You had a little harsher post pathology than me so I guess you are entitled to  more anxiety than I should.

I can say at 9 months post RALP I am finally feeling as strong and fit as before June 8th, if it wasn't for the ED I would say I was 100%. My old prostate had caused me problems that I didn't realize for years in urinating. I do enjoy being able to pee like a teenager again, if I could just have sex like one, i would be so happy. smilewinkgrin

Thought I posted a response, but it vanished.

Keep those low numbers. I don't see as much anxiety as I see dashed hopes each time - I hope it will stop going up. I'm not worried about increases. I have come to expect that.

I had blood drawn last week - should have the call back today. It is that slow because the insurance company requires that I use their lab, and the samples have to be sent off.

I wish i could say it gets better. I got to where i would just stop in spontaniosly on my way home from work and let fthe vampires take my blood. That way I only had 1 sleepless night. This is me wishing you a big fet zero

Anxiety is part of our lives. It doesn't go away but it does get a little better over time. Hopefully you will get a fat zero and get a good night sleep.

Good luck water guy. At first I was terrified about my PSA. Then I learned to forget about the PSA until a week before the test. Now that I'm over 0.1 it doesn't seem to matter as much, I mean about the PSA worry, since I've already busted the number. I'm sure it will return as it keeps increasing but worrying isn't going to bring it down.

Best of luck Terry.

I had my open Radical Prostatectomy in February 2004 and still get a little anxious awaiting my now annual PSA result.

Thankfully, it has remained undetectable as of 12/13/2011.
