I got a call from Kaiser today. After three appeals three denials, three letters to the c.e.o. of kaiser, countless hours doing research on the computer and documentation of phone calls and judging by my last phone bill, way more hours than I care to think about talking to everyone, The state of WA. said that Kaiser has to provide provenge asap after my visit with Dr. V. I start in 3 weeks. They also told Kaiser that Dr. V, being an expert in the field will not be questioned in opinion for future treatment. Thank you so much to all my h/w/brothers and sistes for making this happen. As promised i will not be posting again on the provenge update thread. It has gotten far too big. I may print it. Thank you all for the congrats.

Thank you. I am elated. I was told an hour ago it would be no more than 3 weeks to start. I feel so good.

Wonderful news brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being persistent can pay off, the squeaky wheel often gets the wheel. You must feel so much more hopeful now. Couldn't be happier for you. Will be interesting to follow your new Provenge thread when it starts, who knows, I may be on that path one day too, as a few others here.

Take a good mental and emotional break now, you deserve it.

Todd there are very few doctors that can match the research work of this guy. You'll like him because he is a no BS guy with a huge reputation in the biz among his peers. And obviously among independent arbitrators...

I will Jerry. you too. I am able to see Dr. V. because of the guys here at this site. The burden of 7 weeks off of work has been eased because of the people at this site. I am the luckiest guy in the world.

Great news and you are one of HW's new poster guys for why we should never give up and accept No as an answer for what's right. I now have a smile on my face this morning for you.

You are not the only winner here as you have now set a precedent for anyone of us in a similar situation seeking and being denied Provenge as a treatment.

I have you set up on my Skype and sent you an invite to approve me as a contact so we can see you at GFMPH, perhaps next year we will meet you in person at GFMPH.

I hope that Kaiser will think twice before they try to deny some other guy that just wants to live as long, and be as productive as he can. I will keep everyone posted as to how it works and side effects and everything else that goes along with it. Todd
