Yes, that e-mail is valid, been using it since 1995. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you live in the Powdersville area? I am in Easley. You can choose the place. E-mail me, and I will send back my phone number, and see if we can set a time and day. I am open on that part.

Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. They're obviously much appreciated by many folks. An RV trip to a favorite camp sight sounds good. People ask me why we don't RV anymore. The last time we traveled in it was in our move from California to Maine four years ago. The RV has been under cover for four years. We now live in one of the best camp like home sights I've ever been in. Good landlocked salmon fishing is five minutes away. Your post has still got me thinking of at least poking around New England with the RV to minimize the gas cost. Hope you get some firm info and best of luck to you.

You make me hunger for New England again. We moved to SC after living in NH for 4 years. Spent a lot of time in Maine. When we did major shopping, we were actually closer to Portland, ME, then say Manchester, NH. We didn't live far from the border near Freedom, ME. Every year, we would go to the big fair in Fryeburg. Boy, I miss living up there.

Hope you continue to do well, and enjoy your time there. Lots of great places you can take your RV up there. If you are cruising about in northern NH, becareful of some of the "notches" as they call them on the maps. Some of them are so steep and dangerous. When you see the run-away lanes for trucks, you know its steep!

I lived in Maine a couple years, Kenduskeag area and Bangor. I remember riding down a county or state highway and saw a sign that said "frost heave". I thought what in the world is a frost he........., then the top of my head hit the ceiling of my car as I went airborne going about 65. From then own when this Georgia boy saw a sign that said frost heave, I slowed down!!!

when i lived up in NH, was a fireman part time. in the winter, the truck would come racing by my house, slow down, and i would have to jump on the back and hold onto a rail (no safety strap), then the truck would race off to the fire. trying holding onto an icy cold metal rail, with the firetruck jumping up and down on frost heaves. it was like being on one of those bucking bronco rides, a miracle i never flew off the truck, lol.

Update: no word on the 2nd opinion of the scan yet, will call dr. in the morning to see what's going on. not sure where it was sent out to.

We're in to Portland often. We live near the west shore of Sebago Lake hence the Samon fishing which is great sport. Catch a lot of lake trout also (Togue). I like them for eating but landing one is unfortunately like dragging in an old boot full of mud. Thanks for the input on NH notches. We have been concerned about covered bridges but hadn't considered the notches. Good to know as our RV really struggles on very steep grades.

Yeah, the mall in Portand was much closer than either going to Concord or Manchester, NH for us. My fave northern beach was in Maine, at Kittery Point, though even in August, the ocean temp was rarely above 55 degrees, lol.

Yeah, I was on an unpaved notch in the Spring once, so steep and slippery, didn't think I was going to get out of it alive. There were minor mud land slides going on as I climbed and went down. Never did that again.

But I was the same nut, that drove a car 4 miles offshore on a frozen lake. Ice was averaging 30" thick. Never did that again either. Like I tell my adult kids, before I become old and stupid, I use to be young and stupid, lol. The things we do when we were young. Got to have a guardian angel, who wanted to keep me alive long enough to have PC!

Maybe you could ask about it. For me: one pill a day, no SE.

I'm not sure how long it will work.

Oh, David those side effects were just awful!  Having one or two is one thing.  I hope an alternative pain medicine can be found to help you.  Just checking if you have news about the scan.  Hoping and praying for the best!

Never heard back this week. Didn't make me anxious, just disapointed. My oncologist practices closer to me on Wednesday's (that's where I see him), so hoping to have answer and some followup on the meds by then. Been in communication with his nurse, so she knows that I stopped the new med. So far, I am doing better on my regular pain meds, no complaints.

Glad Ron is still holding on there.

In some post above, you mentioned something about "Blue Velvet". What does that mean? Didn't understand that.

Based on what I've learned these past few years, and acknowledging that I've perhaps gotten a bit jaded, here's my prediction:

You'll get some second opinion that will be vague and answer nothing definitively. I hope I'm wrong. I suspect the upshot will be that more tests (CT Scan, bone scan) will be suggested.

Let's see.

If I'm right, please remit payment to Dr. Compiler.

I am actually expecting the 2nd opinion to be non-conclusive, and believe my doctor thinks the same. He may pass the scan back to the top orthopedic surgeon that scanned me last year, and get a 3rd opinion from him, especially since this spot didn't exist with those scans. Quite certain more tests will be coming.

I finally figured out the "blue velvet" part on my own, i often don't see the obvious, thought it was some secret code.

yesterday, felt pretty decent, until the pain started piling up later in the day. today (sunday) woke up with a lot of severe pain and fatigue. time for me to change out the fentanyl patch, so that should help once its gets into my system.

wife is out of town on business for 5 days, so i have a big empty house. both good and bad, lol.

hope ron is doing better, too.

I hope that patch gets going with relief!  Ron is doing better.  It's always better when he doesn't have the stomache pains.  It's been hard getting Prevacid on sale.  I even thought about that Canadian website that some purchase their ED medications.  Walmarts did have it for $24.99 but hasn't been available in a month.  The prices are terrible at other stores.  Makes you think there's a conspiracy going on!

not claiming to be a great cook by any means, but i typically cook our dinner 5-6 nights a week, and rest of the time we go out to eat. don't have much appitite these days. usually only eat once or twice a day. according to my oncologist, i have been naturally losing 6-7 lbs, every 3 months, without any attempt at dieting.

stomach pain sucks, makes you feel miserable regardless. hope ron does better with that. that is one thing i didnt like about the new med (the one I have now stopped), kept getting horrific stomach cramps, diarhea, etc. didn't care for that on top of all my other issues.

Enjoyed lunch with you yesterday. In contrast to some opinions offered on this forum my impression is that you have a firm grip on reality, and a realistic treatment program in place. Look forward to spending more time with you in the future.

I am headed to China this Friday for a visit of about a month. Hope to get together in June when I return, perhaps with the wives.

You may not have noticed, started a small thread about our "mini-meet", lol. It was a very good lunch and get together. My only regret, is as close as we live to one another, we should have done this a long time ago. Look forward to our next meet, and hopefully we can get the wives together next time..

Have a great time in China, bring me back a chunck from the Great Wall, lol. Been to Japan, Thailand, Guam, Viet-Nam, etc, but never to China. Be safe and let's see some of your great photographs.
