my remarkable sinking PSA

Some of you may remember that I had a 'recurrence' of sorts after about 3 years post op with PSA 0.14. Then it curiously sunk to 0.07, and stayed there for a year or so.

Happy to report that the latest one was even lower, wit PSA undetectable by my lab's standards at less than 0.05!

What would cause a bounce like that? I'm curious. Did you have nerve-sparing surgery? If so, could the same things that cause a PSA rise in folks with their prostates also cause a miniscule rise in RALP patients? (e.g., a UTI, bicycle / motorcycle riding, etc.)

Unusal backward movement, but very happy for you. wish we could read more stories like this one. hope it stays that way for you, for years to come. sephie (who no longer posts here) husband was in a similar situation. he was rising right up to the point of getting setup for SRT, then his number just started backing away. he is still safely away from needing further treatment at this time, hope that is the case for you

That is great news. It is scary when you get a rise in PSA and a great relief when it turns out to be some type of an error. I ha a similar scare when my PSA test rose from .005 to .094 only to go back to <.01 on two subsequent tests. I don't know if it was a lab error or just a blip.
