I met a person who had Cryosurgery about 6 years ago and he says he's doing well.He was 64 at the time of the procedure.He didn't mention his Gleason or PSA numbers.
Not much if any talk of this procedure here.
Pros and cons?

I thought about it before landing on surgery 4 years ago. If I recall, you were almost guranteed to have ED with the procedure. I live in Houston and MD Anderson and Methodist used to run commercials talking about the benefits of Cryosurgery but haven't seen them lately.

As Rob said, a very high degree of impotance. Some have done focal cryosurgery for very low amounts of cancer with good results.

My next door neighbor is the only person I know who had it done. It was done early this year, and he has been fine. He's pulling a zero PSA currently ,no longer on HT, and he recovered quickly from the cyrosurgery without too many side effects. He's happy with his treatment, and he considers himself cured for now.

I had cryoablation at the Cleveland Clinic. When I woke up the catheter hurt like crazy in my penis. After it came out I had blood in urine for 9 weeks. Had a lot of pain there and 16 months later still have occasional twinges there.
The dr. that did the procedure denies there is a problem and did not put it in my records.
Did not want to get scoped after that so have not sued them.
My PSA was undetectable the first year and then went up to .05 at the 1 year mark.
ED is usual with this.
Urine control was pretty good.

Zufus posted this link to the recent paact newsletter. Just after the article he was interested in, there is a tiny blip on cryo that makes a few of the points my uro mentioned when I was first researching a treatment path.
