I bit the bullet and had my blood drawn for a P.S.A. last night. I have a couple hours to wait before I can call for the results. My last test was over 21. That was back in february. Since that time I completed Provenge and started Cassodex. I feel really good right now so I am hoping for a good number. I know it is just a number and at this point it is irrelevant but I would still like to see a low irrelevant number

Thannk you David. I will be glad when I am done with this round of tests and appointments so I can go back to pretending I dont have cancer.

Thanks bud. I mostly worry for my wife. When I told her I was stopping for a psa draw she got sick to her stomach. I feel bad for her.

Todd, I do a pretty good job on forgetting I have PC, because of my current relationship with my oncologist, the PC is more on the back burner. If I had a way of having a pain free day, I would sure like to wake up a single day knowing I didn't have to deal with severe pain all day long, despite the meds I am on.

Was glad to read about your working again, working on your roof, etc, because you are living and doing things. I am tired of being a patient endlessly, told my last boss the other day at lunch, that if I had my wish, I would be PC free, back with my old job with him, and working my "A" off and both of us making a bunch of money. I admit, I still deeply miss my pre-PC life, been almost 4 years now.

I will keep betting on you, your journey is still amazing one, and you are holding your own.

I sent you an email.

Also, I am pretty sure that I read you can no longer use PSA to measure your cancer when on provenge. It works in a different way. Assuming you have mets/lesions, scans will show progress.

So, if your PSA rises, that does NOT mean the provenge isn't working.

I am just saying this from my recollection, so perhaps you can ask -- I may be totally mistaken.

That's what I recall as well:  That Provenge increases survival without greatly helping PSA. Good luck.

Todd, yea, sometimes we forget about the other persons in our lives are suffering just as much as we are. Or maybe even more when we are not around. My wife, like yours, is my rock. She keeps me focosed on what is important at this moment. I'm on my 2nd year of PCa and it scares the hell out of me.
I try to stay busy doing projects around the house as well. As you know, living in the North West, good weather is limited. Beautiful out now so take avantage of it and forget about the PCa for awhile.
