Whats the meaning of your HW name?

My initials.

Ziggymonster...after my black mini poodle.....originally called Ziggy, but her first 2 years were a holy terror, my GF called her "The Monster" , she is now 11 and still is wild, if she hadn't gone blind (PRA) my house probably wouldn't be standing.

Hi All - Nothing related to HW. handle given to me before there were handles. Friends (fellow gangmembers?) came up with "Littlalex" referring to the main character (Alex) and a specific scene in "A Clockwork Orange." which we went to see about a dozen times together.

In my youth my behavior was, uh, erratic...but I'm much better now -- I'M OLD!

lew = my initials

vino = of course wine.....my last name is wineland so lewvino it is.

Now where did I put that bottle of wine?

 

Slinky is an old high school nickname. At one time I was 6ft 3in. tall and 163 lbs, hence the nickname. As I grew older and taller and bigger it just became Slink or DaSlink,and since Slink was already taken,DaSlink wa the only choice.
PS, when I was younger my first nickname Little Buck( my Dad was Buck) and when I started to grow,around the 8th grade, it was High Pockets until I was 15 years old.

Aimzee is a simple nickname.  Now don't go putting it in your search engine.  Hehehe... "My Space" has a beautiful young woman named "Aimzee" - that's not me.  LOL!     However, I am surprised to see one of my posts here at Healing Well > Prostate Cancer showing up in the search of my name! 

What a fabulous thread. Thank you Bud AKA Raddad. The little vignettes are wonderful. I'd seen, and admired, Bronson's art, but who would have thought the lad would have all those tattoos?

When I signed on here I was in not good shape. I handled the DX fairly well, if I do say so myself, but being forced then to decide on treatment left me a basket case. In real life I'd run and owned part of, a retail gasoline chain, I'd been an investor and sometime manager of a manufacturing company (since 'gone south' as they say when people are too kind to use the word 'insolvent' which took too large a chunk of what I got for the gas business with it. Ouch!) and I'd written several books, a couple of which did reasonably well (thanks to having a co-author who knew how to sell books, bless him) and so my real life experience, training, etc. did nothing to equip me to make the treatment decision.

Business had trained me to seek solutions where the risks were mitigated. Solutions where possible outcomes were anticipated and negative results were ones that could be accepted. But, I had no template, no understanding, of how to apply that which came naturally to me to deal with issues and problems, to a PCa treatment decision.

Sleepless on the downside refers to my mental condition at the time. On the upside it also is a tip of the hat to the movie Sleepless in Seattle where sleepless Tom Hanks --- also facing cr*p he isn't prepared to deal with --- comes out on top in the end.

My early posts were simply signed "Sleepless." Then, after surgery, and getting a zero under my belt, I started to sign them "Sheldon AKA Sleepless" Sheldon being my first name, AKA, of course, Also Known As, and my HW handle, Sleepless. The change in my signing reflected the change in my headspace.

By the way, that head space is particularly good today as I got my three year PSA which is <0.01

Great thread Thanks for the bump - I missed this thread while having a break

"English" because I'm English. And it sometimes helps indicate that I'm in a European time zone when posting stuff as I often post at times when others are asleep.
And at HW I hope it helps explain to most of the rest of you that I need to be forgiven for not understanding half the stuff you chaps and ladies chat about. (To say nothing of not understanding the US health care and insurance system)

However, while I am English, I probably don't understand the UK NHS system either anymore as I haven't lived in England for nearly 30 years (My wife and I live in Holland between Amsterdam and Rotterdam - two kids who have left home.)

"Alf" because Alfred is my first name. Named Alf after one of my Grandfathers. But in real life I'm actually known by one of my other first names so I've always used Alf on the web/net to retain a certain degree of anonymity.
Not A.L.F. even if what has been done to me also makes me feel like an Alien Life Form.

I'm a software developer and work from home (near Ottawa) for a company in New Hampshire. Years ago we had a snow storm and my two boys were home from school for the day. They had some friends over, and being a free day off school they were all loud, excited, full of energy and getting on my nerves.

The name popped into my head when I was registering for something that day. I like to keep things simple and always try to use the same user name and I've found that this one is always available.
