hello everyone!
been a while since i posted however, i frequently check in and read posts. seems every six months the anxiety returns as test time nears. will get results back next week. was diagnosed in 2009 at age 45. had rp followed by rt as post surgery psa was 0.02 and 0.05 6wks later. results following radiation have all been "undetectable" but i guess to some degree, some anxiety at test time will always be.
anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all who post. this forum has been a source of comfort and encouragement for me beyond words. thank you all, you are in my prayers.

tigre - That's great news and I hope you continue to see positive results.
I'd be interested in hearing more specifics about
your PCa journey as I'm expecting to eventually need SRT myself. My e-mail address is in my profile.

Rider, sorry i don't seem to see your e-mail address. my journey started in 2009 when i was diagnosed. initial staging was t1 but uro. said cancer was on both sides of prostate. gleason was 6 pre and post op. post op staging was upgraded from t1 to t3a as there was a positive margin.
i was 45 at time of diagnosis. psa was 4.0 and DRE was negative. Uro. was hesitant to even biopsy but due to older brother being diagnosed a year prior, we did.
first post op psa was 0.02. about
two months later psa was 0.05 and rt began about
two weeks later.
Uro. and radiation onc. agreed that radiation should start before psa got any higher. all tests since have been "undetectable".
side effects from radiation were minimal for me, so far. i did experience some fatigue though. that could have been partly due to driving an hour one way every day for tx. hope this helps and if you have any questions please don't hesitate.
i'm not very computer literate but i'll try and put my e-mail address on my profile.

Tigre, it's important that the old veterans come back and report their success stories! It gives the younger guys great hope that they too can beat this thing....I'm about
a year behind you, 2 years post treatment, so my next two PSA tests will be critical....I don't give it much thought...better that way...Congratulations on your success so far....

Good news is good news. Thanks Tigre.
We're on a similar protocol and when I hear it working it comforts me...
