Trimix w/ Training Wheels

Note the dates on this thread before you comment. It is nearly six years old. Feel free to post if you like but bear in mind that questions posted in 2012 are likely to have already been answered.

I was wondering if I could trouble some of you guys to go to your fridge and read me the numbers off the little bottle on the back of the top shelf. Mine says

Papaverine 75mg / Phentolamine 2.5mg / Alprostadil 25mcg per 4.5ml.

This means that per 'unit' as marked on the syringe I get

0.167mg Papaverine,
0.00556mg Phentolamine, and
0.0556mcg Alprostadil

I am still trying to compare my lackluster results (with 25 units) with the general expectations for the drugs. If you do the math... let's see... naught times naught is naught, naught time naught is naught, carry the zero, adjust for daylight savings time... Dang! Out of fingers; gotta take off my shoes... Oh, yes. 25 units of my uro's patented mix gives

4.167mg Papaverine,
0.139mg Phentolamine, and
1.39mcg Alprostadil

That seems a bit on the light side to me.

Mine is 30mg papa, 1mg phen, 20mcg per 1 ml.

The prescription should have been written for and printed on the vial as per 1ml. If the pharmacy printed yours wrong and it is actually per 1ml, then yours is 2 1/2 times or so stronger than mine in both papa and phen and just a little stronger in the Prostoglandin. In that case, I'd use the plump and prick method and start with 10 units, and work up from there. That sounds like some strong stuff. You can forget using your fingers and toes to calculate, because the ratio of the drugs is the same whether 4.5 ml or .10 ml, the concentration of each drug is the same. It all is based on the compounded amount they finish with.

Call whoever gave you this prescription and get that straightened out as to what it is actually per 1 ml measurement. The 1ml dispensing is standard pharmacy measurements and all your compounded drugs should be compounded and measured in that standard amount.

Just to be honest here, it sounds like your doc didn't do you any great favors with this, and sorta sent you out the door on your own with nowhere enough info. He needs to do more and you deserve better. I would have another talk with him, and the dispensing agent, whoever that was, before proceeding. It is vital that you know what you have in your hands before you start trying to figure the best use for it. Just my opinion.

Papaverine 30mg - Phentolamine 1mg – Prostaglandin 10mcg/ml. 
3 units (0.03 ml).

Have used: Papaverine 30mg - Phentolamine 0.2 mg – Prostaglandin 10mcg/ml (3 units); however, erection went away too fast.

My vial appears to be labeled with the total amount of the drug per the total volume of the solution. ( ie. 75mg of Papaverine in 4.5ml. ) I asked the pharmacist about the dose and she said the usual range was 20 to 50 units. I expect that the information on the vial is right (even if the way it is presented is unusual). I tried 25 units with disappointing results so I doubt that my mix is 2.5 times stronger than yours. It appears to be just a dab weaker than the concentrations that user 'trimix' reported using above.

My math may be wrong, but if you break it down to 1 ml volume, which is what the rest of us here see on our vials, then yours would be :

16.8mg per 1ml papaverine (75 by 4.5)
.56mg phentolamine (2.5 by 4.5)
.056mcg Prostaglandin (25mcg by 4.5)

so 16.8/.56/.056 per 1 ml compared to most guys standard script
of 30/1/either 10 or 20 mcg. So, the way I see it, it's half strength to mine and MOST others here.

Use the PPP method and start low, work up. That's what I would do if it were me. You got the rest of your life to work up to it, but one trip to the ER will surely take some of the attraction of chemical sex away.

Every so often we do get a guy coming thru with the crazy values like your prescription -- and listed as totals for the complete volume like yours ... AND they always seem to have crazy non-standard (not 5 or 10ml) volumes. The pharmacy must have some old old old Pharmacopoeia or something...

As you found out, your normalized values are very meager (per ml) and I suppose you will have to use quite a bit to get any good effect.

Sometimes the Uro just has to describe the trimix as "Standard" or some other designation and the compounding pharmacy knows what to make. Yours must have been listed as Crazy Weak or something.

When you talk to your Uro for a new prescription you should maybe have him specifically list it out as something like

30mg Papaverine, 1mg Phentolamine and 20mcg PGE-1 (Per ml).

(or maybe prescribe 'Standard' as long as it is not what he used last time).

Then you should get Liftoff.... eventually.

I do not know if this is a good combo or not. It works!
On the vial it states take as directed 3 times a week
Since I don't have a directed sheet, I use 30mg as needed. Since I can achieve without and I only use for security so I don't ruin a moment, I only use occasionally ( maybe weekly) I can achieve 3hrs 1 min reliably with this mix and dose unless I miss the spot which is about one in three attempts. If I don't hit the right spot it does not work. I used to think something was wrong with me and get nervous but now I know that hitting the right spot is important.
I will live with this stuff in my refrigerator for the rest of my life and be proud of spending $86.00 per month.

That appears to be a fairly standard 'starter' mix, quite similar to what I have been using. My doctor started me at 20 units and I have been working my way up slowly from there. (I only go up 2 1/2 units at a time). Last time I saw my urologist I got him to give me a scrip for a stronger mix since I need 35-40 units to get a passable result with what I have been using. I have several weeks worth of my current (slightly watery) mix on hand so I won't know about the new mix until sometime next month.

Studies have shown that ED continues to improve after RALP for up to four years so it is too early to give up at 13 months. In Trimix users the way to tell if you are recovering is if the Trimix starts working better at the same dose, or just as well at a lower dose.

My first prostate cancer was treated with iodine 125 with 107 seeds. My pas went down from 6,5 to .8. I checked it ever three months and in one and a half years my psa went up to 1.8. Contacted my doctor and he told me to go in and have a Mir using dye just like breast cancer screen but modified for the prostate. The MIR screen showed up with three locations 3 GPS locations. I then contacted a Cryo doctor along with my original doctor and with the Cryo my psa is no .2.....No i just had my trimix script sent to the lab.. PROS 10 MCG
Pap 30 mg and 1 mg phent. I was told to start at .2 mg and move up .1 to find the correct amount... Ill keep you all posted/
